PG Beau Frericks (Team RWA 17U)
The Cary-Grove sharp shooting point guard wasn’t his usual lights out self on Friday night when we saw him, but man did he more than make up for it Saturday in the semifinals of the 17U bracket. Frericks knocked home 6 triples on his way to 20 points. One of the best shooters in 2020 from Illinois.
SG Grant Rickertson (Iowa Mavs 17U)
Against Team RWA this lefty shooting guard knocked home several threes with a smooth looking shot.
SG Cameron Mallory (Illinois T-Wolves 16U)
Mallory has a feathery shooting stroke along with positional size. Best we have seen him shoot it over the weekend especially in their Friday night game. Such a fluid motion.
SG Connor Barrett (Iowa Mavs 16U)
Barrett also hails from Illinois in the 2021 class being from Fulton, Illinois. The 6’1” two guard was a sniper from deep in the game we saw.
PG Cam Cleveland (Team RWA 15U)
Cleveland is the next Leo point guard that will be bombing away threes. He did it over the weekend for Team RWA.
SF Odin Lium (HIT 16U)
Lium continues to see his stock rise and a major reason for that is how well he shoots it from three. The thin wing can knock them down both off the catch and pulling up. Big time perimeter sniper!
PG Jack Baldridge (HIT 17U)
Baldridge also hit some key threes for HIT over the weekend. In their loss on Saturday he did everything he could to get them back in it with a pair of triples.
SF Marcus Skeete (HIT 17U)
Skeete is one of the surprises to be on this list. Not known as a plus shooter coming into the event it was that area which impressed us the most. He hit threes and pull ups at a high rate throughout the event with a clean and fluid motion.
SF Matthew Mors (South Dakota Attack 17U)
Mors is a jumbo wing that can really shoot the basketball. No wonder there is so much buzz heading into the live period in Madison for this 2021 skilled forward!
SF Kobe Busch (South Dakota Attack 17U)
Busch was lights out from the perimeter. With the HIT defense focused on Mors he was freed up and let it fly! Busch was an absolute force knocking in threes at 6’5”.
PG Myles Leavy (Illinois T-Wolves 17U)
Leavy is the opposite of Busch height wise, but he was equally as adept from deep. The tiny guard knocked in threes at a nice clip.
PG Kesean Ladd (South Dakota Network 17U)
This lefty combo guard from South Dakota Network can put up points in a hurry with a lethal pull up game!
C Max Murrell (Team Factory 17U)
Murrell is by far and away the tallest on this list as the almost 6’10” lefty center showed a smooth perimeter shooting stroke that stretched out to three.
