Time for us to review what we saw in Scotty B’s Superlatives! Here are the Illinois Stock Boosers! These are prospects we have seen before, but felt they really took their game to another level over the weekend.
SG Elijah Jones (Team RWA 17U)
This Marian Catholic 2020 wing elevated his stock with his play throughout the event. Long and lanky wing that got in passing lanes creating turnovers. Continuing defensive stopper mentality from high school season. He got after it on that end of the floor with his anticipation and tenacity. Offensively he is a like a pogo stick dunking everything in sight! Jones is trending in the right direction at the right time!
F Ashawn Burbridge (Illinois T-Wolves 16U)
Burbridge is a forward that we saw last summer and were intrigued by, but wasn’t sure how much he was going to grow. He hasn’t grown much vertically, but his game has made strides. We came away impressed with how well he put the ball on the deck. This isn’t something that was in his game a year ago. Still rebounded at a nice rate and the 2021 forward defended both inside and out.
SF Cameron Mallory (Illinois T-Wolves 16U)
We really liked what this 2021 wing brought to the table on Friday night. Starting to project as one of those classic three and D wings. Silky smooth perimeter shot knocking them down from all over while defending at a high level on the perimeter.
SF Odin Lium (HIT 16U)
Lium continues to see his arrow pointing up! The Oswego East 2021 wing didn’t really even play that much last season for his varsity team, but he is primed to breakout as a junior. Love his positional size and the way he strokes it shooting from the perimeter. Easy elevation off the floor with a crisp pull up game. Also has athleticism to go with the skill.
SF Marcus Skeete (HIT 17U)
We mentioned Skeete in our top overall prospects from the event and man did he deserve it with the way he performed. In the best shape of his career heading into a critical spring and summer for his recruitment. This 6’5” forward has become a full blown wing with his shooting, perimeter defense, and ability to slash to the cup.
