These high volume scorers were getting buckets at a consistent rate. Here is a list of prospects that should be on College Coaches radars coming into April. This list is not a ranking or in any particular order.
Carlos Miller Jr. 6’3 CG / Hall HS {AR} / 2020 / All Arkansas Red
This prospect was on full scoring display at the first Session of the Prep Hoops Circuit. He was a bucket every game. Plays with a great motor that seemed to never stop. He scored in the paint and finished well at the rim through tightly contested lay-ups. He was able to take his man off the dribble. Displayed his mid-range game. Pulling up over defenders off the dribble. Came down a couple of times on his Steph Curry with some pull-up trey balls in transition. He is a scorer and a winner. Plays to win and didn’t take many ill advised shots. He also was a menace on the defensive end of the ball. Good lateral movement and quick hands. Strong handle on the ball. Ran the show a facilitated the ball well also. Made a lot of right decisions at the right time with the ball in his hands. Would be a solid fit at the D1/D2 level.
Ronald Holmes 6’4 SG / Northside HS {TX} / 2021 / Beast Elite 17U
Plays up on the 17U level and he still put up 20 points in multiple games. He plays with a high motor. Get’s after it on 50/50 balls. He has a a knack for scoring the ball at a high rate. Gets to the lane and utilizes his package well. Floaters, euro steps, pro-hops, & bullies his way to the rim. Has a decent handle on the ball and also was able to get his teammates going at times. Creates for well for himself in his mid-range package. Has a nice 2-3 dribble package from the perimeter. He is also a pesky defender. He was giving opponents fits with his tight defense. Though he is only a sophomore college coaches of all levels definitely need to keep an eye on him.
Christian Cook 6’2 CG / Midwest City HS {OK} / 2020 / Team Buddy Buckets
He is a bucket. Plays the game really smart and shows his overall IQ. His awareness of scoring the ball is super high. He reads his defenders really well when attacking and to create for himself. He is total package on the offensive end of the ball. Pull-up threes, catch and shoot, dribble pull-ups mid-range, catch and shoot off screens, reads screens well on when to shot or drive. Finished lay-ups that were tightly contested and dunked a couple of people also. Utilizes triple threat moves, euro step, pro hop, and has a nice dribble package. Turns it of an on with his change of pace of speeds. He also played solid on the defensive end as well. Good lateral movement and is a good shot blocker for his size. This prospect would thrive in the right system at the D1 Mid-Major Plus/ Mid-Major/Mid-Low Major/ Low Major levels.
Caelin Hearne 6’3 SG / Norman North HS {OK} / 2021 / Below The Rim 16U
This prospect is a solid 3:D guy, but he also has more to the package. He is able to get by his defenders into the lane to score easy baskets. Finishes well through contact and over contested defense. Finishes high off the glass on lay-ups. Has a good 3 point shot as well. Good catch and shoot player. Can put the ball on the floor for a nice 2-3 dribble combo to create for himself. Scores in bunches and shoots the smart shots. Has good lateral movement to keep opponents in front of him. Decent strength for his size. Solid prospect that college coaches at multiple levels should be looking at.
Sean Pedulla 6’0 PG / Edmond Memorial HS {OK} / 2021 / Team Buddy Buckets 16U
He is a new school point guard. He is a score first point. I can’t knock him for it either because if you cant stop him from scoring then why not score the ball. He was giving defenders fits with his capabilities to score from all three levels. Pull up trey balls in transition. Beat his man off the dribble to get to the rim for creative finishes. Plays smart and with an high IQ. He always knows how his opponent is guarding him and he takes what they give him. He is also decisive at the general position and creates for his teammates as well. Has a quick first and second step. Shifty point that makes his moves seem so effortless. This young prospect stock is certainly on the rise. College Coaches at the D1/D2 levels need to get there eyes on this promising prospect in the live period.
Trey Alexander 6’5 SG / Heritage Hall HS {OK} / 2021 / Team Griffin 16U
Trey is a walking bucket. Scores the ball at an high rate from all levels. It doesn’t matter if he’s tightly contested or not. Each game he showcased a different scoring skill set. In the Championship game he went on full display. Had some tough dribble pull-ups over defenders that touched the bottom of the net. Knocked down trey balls, both contested and uncontested. Was able to blow by his opponent on multiple occasions. Finished at the rim over bigger defenders. He even played around with opponents at times just for the ooohhhh of the crowd. Showcased his ability to facilitate also. He is a lock up on defense. Great lateral movement. Scrappy defender with quick hands. He times his opponent dribble speed which i see very rarely in today’s game. He is definitely a High Major prospect and will be interesting to see his growth over the entire Spring/Summer. Coaches get him on your radar now.
