Take a look at some forwards who stood out in 17U play!
Inside Factors:
• Michael Forhan (H&H Elite / 6’4”): Forhan played bigger then his listed size on Saturday. Sets the post well, ready to catch and score off the block. Also, moves laterally well, where he can get open looks. Obtained shot-blocking ability on the defensive end.
• Austin Shelley (Arkansas Outreach 17U / 6’7”): Shelley showed his capability to block and make it tough on opposing scorers. Good size at 6-foot-7, the junior moves very well for his size. Sets position well on the block, where he can take the inside feed and finish.
• Zachariah Edwards (D1 Houston / 6’7”): Edwards flashed his athleticism, and was up and down the floor with ease. Has ability to be a trailer in the fastbreak, and clean things up. A bouncy player that can score a putback over defenders.
• Heston Roberts (D1 Prospects / 6’7): Heston Roberts is a rim protector for his D1 Prospects team. Has great size and a long reach that affects the game in many ways. Really like the potential I saw in the junior.
• Sam Kemp (Kansas hoggs / 6’4”): Kemp is a big-bodied forward for this Kansas team. He plays tough, able to back down defenders in the paint. Fights on the boards for extra possessions, where he is often successful with the put-back.
