Playmakers North Schneidermannn doesn’t have a real tall team, but it’s got a lot of talent from some of the best teams in northern Minnesota.
Here’s a quick look
Guards: Quincy Wilson, Micah Pocernich, Noah Winesett, Nick Snell, Joey Barker
Pocernich is probably the most well-known of this group given he’s been one of the best players at the Class A level for a couple years now. He’s gotten bigger and stronger in recent years and he’s one of the best pure shooters in the state regardless of school size. This is a good opportunity for him to show what he can do against top-level competition.
Wilson was a starter for Bemidji last year and brings 3-point shooting and playmaking to the table.
Winesett’s been a productive player at Duluth East for a few years now and brings good size to the wing. He’s a solid defender and can guard up and down a lineup.
Barker is out of Superior, Wisconsin and brings good size to the perimeter.
Forwards: Trevor Morrison, Colten Jensen, Riley Fischer, Tyler Tichenor
Jensen is an undersized big who produces because of effort, strength and basketball smarts. He’s only 6-foot-3, but he averaged 13 points and six rebounds last year for Bemidji and does a great job carving out space on the interior.
Morrison is in a similar boat in that he’s 6-foot-4, but he’s productive because he knows where to be on the floor where he can be effective, he’s got really good hands and he finishes in traffic at a high rate. He averaged 14 points and seven rebounds for North Woods.
Fischer was a bit guy at Esko last season but could see a much bigger role next winter. He’s got good length for a combo-forward at 6-foot-4 with solid quickness.
Tichenor is out of Crandon High School in Wisconsin and at 6-foot-5, has a variety of skills that allow him to make an impact inside and out.
