ND Phenom doesn’t have a 17U club but its 16U team should be one of the better 16U level teams in the Dakotas.
Here’s a quick look:
Guards: Max Tschosik, Jaxon Kellogg, Joseph Buzalsky, Gunner Jacobs, Trey Tietz
Tschosik is undersized at 5-foot-8 but he’s quick and tough. He’s good at attacking the paint and creating shots for his teammates and on the defensive end, he applies consistent pressure on the ball.
Kellogg is play way up as he’s a 2023 graduate at Bismarck Century. He’s a guy to watch long term as he’s got all the tools to be a big time player in North Dakota. He’s big, strong, quick and seems to play with a good feel.
Buzalsky is a 2022 guy out of Bismarck Legacy and could see a lot of playing time as early as next season at the varsity level. Tietz is from Mandan and brings good size to the wing. Jacobs is a Turtle
Forwards: Wyatt Enno, Justice Coleman, Evan Ullrich, Ben Morman, Keith Levin
Enno is a really interesting one in this group as he’s been productive in the WDA for a couple years now. At 6-foot-3, he’s got a nice inside-outside offensive game and he rebounds in and out of his area well. If he continues to develop physically and improves on the defensive end, he’s going to draw some college interest.
Ullrich is a load inside at 6-foot-7. He’s got good footwork on the block and good hands. He’s not the most explosive kid but he’s fairly mobile and uses his size and strength effectively.
Coleman, Levin and Morman are all from WDA schools and didn’t see any varsity time a year ago but all could provide lifts in their respective frontcourts next winter. Coleman, a Bismarck Century 2021 guy, is the most athletic of the bunch. Morman is 6-foot-9 from Bismarck St. St. Mary’s and Levin is one of the many talented young players coming through the Jamestown program.
