Here’s a quick look at MN Select Robinson
Guards: Jace Bigelow, Breyton Buysman, Zach Longueville, Bradley Cimperman, Jayden Lane
Buysman has been one of the really impressive guys on this team. The Simley High School guard averaged better than 13 points per game as a sophomore and has a really nice feel for the game. He’s a decent outside shooter and is excellent in ball screen actions and as a facilitator and slasher. He’s got great size for a guard too, at 6-foot-3 with good strength for his age.
Bigelow is a big guard out of Kasson-Mantorville and has the ability to be a really solid two-way swingman. He’s a solid mid-range player and slasher and can be really impactful on the defensive end, guarding up and down a lineup.
Longueville was extremely productive as a sophomore at St. Croix Lutheran, averaging 18 points, five rebounds and better than three assists per game. His well-rounded style is a big plus for this group.
Lane was a solid piece for Park of Cottage Grove last year and gives the team another solid facilitator.
Cimperman was one of Woodbury’s top scorers as just a sophomore and has a chance to grow into one of the best players in the 2021 class as a whole.
Forwards: Connor Chappell, Graham Beltrand, Andrew Mandel
Orono is supplying the size for this club as Chappell, Beltrand and Mandel are all Orono High School players.
Chappell has been the most impressive of the bunch early in the year as he’s a relentless interior presence on the block and on the glass on both ends of the floor. He’s strong, mobile, skilled and highly active and definitely a guy to watch.
Beltrand is the best shooter of the bunch and has an advanced skillset which could make him an intriguing player as the summer moves along.
Mandel is 6-foot-8 and has the mobility and budding skill to be a difference-maker on both ends of the court.
