ND Attack is one of the rising grassroots programs in North Dakota and has three 17U level teams this summer. The Green Team has an intriguing mix of talent at its disposal.
Here is a quick look:
Guards: Carson Henningsgard, Tyler Loe, Jacob Dick, Ordale Morstad, Colton Ratchenski, Avery Thorsgard
Henningsgard is a player to watch this summer as he’s been one of the best players in the state regardless of class the last few years. He’s a terrific scorer from all three levels as well as a very good distributor. He’ll have an opportunity to run a team full of guys who aren’t used to playing with him, all the while playing against high-end competition.
Dick was a role player last year for Thompson, averaging five points and three assists. He’ll be expected to take one a much bigger role as a senior and this could be a good experience for him as he plays against top-end competition every weekend.
Loe is one of the best shooters in North Dakota and has averaged 18-plus points per game each of the last two years for Dakota Prairie. He’s used to playing in an uptempo style and he’ll have a lot of opportunities to space the floor for this group.
Ratchenski and Morstad wer solid role players for successful Class B teams last year in Cavalier and Langdon/Edmore/Munich. While neither guy was a go-to scorer, their styles of play seem to point to the ability to blend in and play roles effectively.
Forwards: Clay Odenbach, Andre Carrier, Matt Greendahl, Landen Reed
Odenbach was a key cog in Thompson’s season, supplying top-notch defense and rebounding up front. He plays a simple game and does it well.
Carrier was productive for one of the better Class B teams in Cavalier and has the length and shooting touch to stand out in an open setting like this.
Greendahl was North Border’s best player and can score inside despite not being the biggest or most athletic kid.
Reed emerged as a consistent double-figure scorer for Hillsboro/Central Valley in his junior year, using strong shooting and perimeter skills to complement Henningsgard effectively.
