There was also plenty of action in state at Bama Jam by HoopSeen. This article looks at the top performers from the weekend:
Jayden Stone (Team Carroll)- Stone showed why he is regarded as a top 50 talent. He shot the ball well from deep in several games. The CG set up his teammates, and he battled on the glass. Stone’s best performance was a 21 point and 8 rebound game, where he also knocked down 4 threes.
Jaylen Myers (Team Carroll)- Myers is a very intriguing prospect. At 6’7, he has the skill and ability to play both forward spots. He is at his best playing on the perimeter. Myers showed off the ability to score from anywhere on the court and hit the glass hard. His best performance was a 24 and 12 game.
Shannon Grant (Alabama Celtics)- Coaches need to flock to whatever court this kid is on. Grant’s best basketball is ahead of him. The 6’10 post was hard to keep out of the paint and off the glass. His best performance was a 13 and 13 game. Grant gets better every time he touches the floor, and this kid is going to be a rankings riser.
Sedrick Pettway (Alabama Celtics)- Pettway is a 6’5 wing with length and good shooting mechanics. This past weekend he showed the ability to score at all 3 levels. His weekend high was 19. Becoming more aggressive and more consistent every tournament should be his focus.
Chance Beard (Birmingham Thunder)- Beard is definitely a favorite to watch. He plays with a motor on both ends of the floor, and the forward is not afraid of the dirty work. We also need to mention that Chance has shown off the ability to hit open 3s. Beard’s best stat line was 9 points, 15 boards, and 5 blocks. College coaches will fall in love with his style of play.
Caden Pierce (Birmingham Thunder)- Pierce is a competitor. He plays hard on both ends. The PG has a good shooting stoke and loves setting his teammates up. He may not be the best athlete, but he is a dog. Pierce rebounds extremely well for his size/position. His best line was 18-8-6 this weekend.
Hayden Lamey (JBA Jayhawks)- Lamey is one of the best shooters in the 2020 class, but this weekend he showed his scoring ability. The 6’3 CG is a true threat from all 3 levels. He plays hard on both ends and rebounds well. Lamey averaged 15 points per game this past weekend. Look for him to continue his aggressive play in the next tournament.
