This weekend they will be playing in Dallas,Texas. These prospects from the Lone Star State are ready to shine brightly on the stage set before them. The Gauntlet has 18 of the Prep Hoops Texas Top 100 prospects playing on the Gauntlet Circuit. The Gauntlet has five teams which represent the state of Texas.
Urban DFW Elite went 2-2 in the first session of the Adidas Gauntlet. They were led by sophomore point guard Wade Taylor IV who put up an 15.6 points per game average in the session. The big guy Jaquan Scott also added to the mix with 9 points per game and 7 rebounds per game. DFW looks to take advantage as the home town team in the second session.
Play Ball Nation YIIS is the new name on the block with a lot of familiar faces. They merged with Yes II Success (YIIS) who has been on the Adidas Gauntlet for the past three years and has been merged with a different team every year. They went 0-4 in the first session. They were led by two guard Journee Phillips who averaged 16.5 points per game and 1 steal per game.
Marcus Smart YGC36 will be playing in the second session of the Gauntlet. In the first session they went 4-0 and had an average margin of victory of +10.4 points. They were led by point guard Latrell Jossell and wing-man Andrew Laczkowski. They look to continue there success this weekend in their home town and plan to make a run towards the Adidas Championships.
Team Harden didn’t have a great circuit run last year, but that is all looking to be changed this year. They went 3-1 after the first session of play. They looked pumped and prime and will be a sleeper on the Gauntlet. They were led by point guard Cambridge “Deuce” Guidry II who averaged 15 points per game and shot over 70% from behind the arc, for the first session. This team is not a team that opponents should sleep on as they prepare to make a run for the Adidas Championships.
Basketball University who has been a traditional top tier team in the Gauntlet. They went 0-4 in the first session. Breon Thompson led the team with an 11.5 points per game average. Basketball University looks to capture there first Gauntlet victory this weekend in Dallas.
