2020:
• Kaveon Ross (6’5” / PF / Walnut Ridge): Ross has the size and athleticism to be a matchup problem for a lot of teams. Runs the floor well, and a lob threat. The multi sport athlete can really boost his potential as he spaces the floor more, which I’ve seen him show flashes of. At Walnut Ridge, he should be more integrated into the offense in his senior season, and spacing the floor would be a big key. With another dominant big man on the team, he has the chance to get a lot of likable matchups. From what I’ve seen this spring, I have already seen some improvement in the forwards game. Watch out for him over the next couple months, and then his senior go around.
• Isaiah Ingle (6’9” / F-C / Northland): Ingle thrives on the defensive end, where he rejects and bothers just about anything inside. I think this summer could be big for Isaiah, in terms of improvement. As he gets stronger, Ingle will improve his finishing ability, and open up his offensive game even more. The junior works hard on both ends as a rebounder, that he is only going to get better at. It’s going to be awesome to see what the next year has in store for the Northland center.
• Tahj Staveskie (6’0” / PG / Sandusky): Staveskie has the guard skills to be an absolute terror. Changes speeds well, three-level scorer, and can create his own shot. Tahj has battled some injury, but was really solid for Sandusky during his junior season. I think as he gets stronger, and is able to fight inside more, it could really boost his stock. Ball handling is also a strength for the junior, as he makes smart plays more often then not. A player I want to catch more this grassroots season, as he develops.
• Taquan Simington (6’2” / G / Columbus South): Simington has some more upside in his two-way ability he possesses. Proving himself big time during regular season and state tourney run, Taquan is only going to get better. Big time athleticism, that can glass you at one end and dunk on you on the other. This spring and summer Simington should be an absolute terror in the open floor during the grassroots period. Next season, Simington will look to produce more after South loses Tre Watkins to graduation. Simington is a candidate to pick up a lot of the production, and is very capable. Interested to see what the future holds for the junior.
• Keaton Turner (6’0” / PG / Dublin Coffman): Keaton Turner could have start for many teams in Central Ohio last season. But, in a bench role he was a big spark when he came in and made a name for himself. With Coffman losing a lot to graduation, Turner is going to be a player that will produce a lot more. Crafty ball handler than can get into the lane and finish with finesse and through contact. Can create his own shot, also. Next season, the junior is primed for a big jump.
