Just a couple days ago, I showed the top five guards for Central Ohio. In this piece, it’s looking at Central Ohio freshman you must know! These freshman have been ranked by Prep Hoops Ohio, and are deservingly so.


• Joshua Whiteside (6’5” / C / Gahanna): If you don’t know Josh Whiteside, you soon will. Still with plenty of room to grow, the freshman is already a problem! Athletic enough to run the transition, Whiteside can finish tough at the rim, or above. The six-foot-Five forward possesses great movement, and is an impact player on both ends. Whiteside is molding into a shot-blocker, with a long reach it’s easy to see why. An inside scoring threat, that can back you down with good size. A player to definitely keep an eye on. 

• Troy Scowden (6’6” / PF / Buckeye Valley): Troy Scowden was a instant impact in the MOAC, as one of the biggest players. Standing at six-foot-six already, the freshman is a matchup problem for many teams. Running the floor well, finishing at the rim and length are big time positives to the Barons game.
