Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) first session gets underway in Atlanta, Georgia this upcoming weekend. These prospects from the Lone Star State are ready to shine brightly on the stage set before them. The Texas Titans bringing one of the most formidable rotations in the country. The majority of this group has been playing together for years, and while they have a ton of star power, their biggest asset is likely their team chemistry. The Titans will be led by Greg Brown III and Cade Cunningham. Top-to-bottom, there aren’t many teams that can compete with the Titans on paper.
Houston Hoops had an impressive 2018 run, finishing 12-4 overall. The Hoops will turn over a completely new roster this year, and head coach Tim Schumacher has a solid amount of talent to work with. The Hoops will be led by three nationally-ranked recruits and should be a major contender in Division B.
Drive Nation made their program debut last year and had a terrific first season. Sponsored and coached by NBA veteran Jermaine O’Neal, the Dallas-based EYBL affiliate finished with an 11-5 regular season record and advanced to Peach Jam in their inaugural season. The success O’Neal and company found in 2018 has lead to big expectations this spring and summer, and they have another immensely-talented rotation lined up for their encore EYBL campaign being led by nationally touted prospect R.J. Hampton.
Pro Skills’ approach to the EYBL is very simple; recruit the area’s most underrated players, and give them a platform to excel. The Dallas-based EYBL unit features more star power than usual, as they will feature Micah Peavy and a stud 2021 prospect in Arthur Kaluma. Montreal Pena and Michael Jefferson should add some fire power to this squad who loves to fly under-the-radar.
