Watching this young man grow and develop over the years has been very rewarding as he is a very hard worker, respectful and humble all while being confident as well. So let’s take a look at the possible destinations that he could land at for those who may not know already in preparation for the big time decision next week.
Boston College
They were a program that came aboard a bit late but with the loss of NBA prospect Kyran Bowman to the draft, the Eagles are seeking to fill the void at PG. They dropped in to see him play during the season and during that game he absolutely showed out, going for 27 Points, 8 Assist and 6 Rebounds on the night.
High Point University
Any time you have a legendary coach such as Tubby Smith knocking at your door, you have to be extremely interested in the possibility. Smith has dropped in multiple times, one occasion was their matchup with Trinity Christian where John Michael went for 29 points, 10 Assist and 7 rebounds on the night. Also we must note that HPU got an official visit from Wright a few weeks back and is one of the schools closer in location.
UMBC
UMBC is a program that has gotten more attention nationally due to their upset of a top seeded program in the NCAA tournament last season. Wright took a visit during their conference tournament and seemed like he enjoyed the experience as well as the coaching staff. With their leading scorer being a graduate, they will be in need of players that can put the ball in the bucket so it would be wise for them to recruit him.
VMI
Another program that came in a bit later but will be a place where he would be able to come in and make a very early impact. Taking a look at some of the guards in the past at VMI, Wright fits the mold of players they like which is players with toughness that can score the ball at a very high rate.
Providence College
The Friars recruit the NC area very well and will be the program where Trinity Christian Star Forward Greg Gantt plays his college career out. However the Friars are not done as they have reached out and shown interest in acquiring Wright as well, which is not much of a surprise. Looking at their roster, they have quite a few older guards and will need a PG that can come in and compete for minutes next season while playing a larger role the following year.
