Minnesota Heat Tauer earned 16 and Under championship gold at the Comets Shootout. At Prep Hoops we review the top performers starting with 6-foot-8 power forward Andrew Morgan.

Andrew Morgan of Heat Tauer (Waseca). The hottest rising 2021 in the winter has continued his run through the weekend including a 16 point performance vs WOTN in the semis. Morgan then dominated the title game scoring 29 points on 13 of 19 shooting. Andrew hit softly from the elbow late in the game, shoulder turned into soft touches, scored on several second chances, and most importantly was hammered by opponents but scored through contact constantly. Put together a 29 point, 16 rebound title game performances once again showcasing that he’s a top five level sophomore prospect in Minnesota.

Logan Purcell of Comets Elite (Annandale). Great core strength and strong legs that allowed Purcell to get touches consistently. Holds his 6-foot-7 body in great position to enter to and with that body/position guys behind him were helpless. Scored at the arc too but it was his four deep scores that couldn’t be dealt with.
