Eugene “Eddie” Whitmore—Sierra
One of the standout unsigned Seniors in the event was Whitmore. He is a player that controlled the game and was one of the best leaders at the event. He told his players which spots to be at, scored when he wanted and knocked down open shots. He also got to the rim and either found the open man or finished at the basket. Whitmore is an interesting prospect as he is a player that can really score at will but played the facilitator role in this event and was one of the standout passers. Solid event for him and a player to keep an eye on this summer.
Rhaven Brown—Falcon
Brown was not only a stock booster but one of the biggest performers on the day as his athleticism is really what made him standout. He had a dunk in one of the games that was one of the best plays on the day as it was between two defenders and a double pump. His springy length allowed him to get to the rim and finish better than most other players on the day. He also knocked down shots and showed that Falcon had them a solid player that just was hidden on a team that underachieved. Brown is a unsigned Senior that scores from all three levels, rebounds well and plays under control. This is going to be a big summer for him that he should be looking forward to turning heads. If he gets to a big team that gets in front of the right coaches and plays the way that he did in the showcase he will definitely be picked up.
Sekou Toure— Eaglecrest
Toure did exactly what he did all year long – get in the game and make plays. Toure is a player that is full of energy and is able to change the outcome of the game with hustle plays and he showcased that he is a playmaker. He puts the ball on the floor and attacks the rim. He plays with great pace, has solid ball handling and showcased court vision as well. One of the things that was also on display was his ability to score at the rim. He did not turn down shots and was a player that tried to get his which is when he is at his best.
Martin Garcia—Centauri
Senior guard Martin Garcia was a player that really stood out as he was very unselfish with his decisions and deliberate. He made plays for others but also showed that he was able to finish with either hand and attacked the rim well. He is a good and willing passer that made it difficult for defenders as he was always on the move and making the right play. One thing is for certain, he can score that basketball and it did not matter that he was playing with the top players, he stood out and adjusted his game to playing at a faster speed.
Jabea Long – Aurora Central
Senior guard, Jabea Long was a player that proved himself for the day. He attacked the rim, he got inside the lane and either finished or dropped it off to the cutting man. He is a player that played with tons of energy and got others involved which is great to see in a showcase. While he did not shoot it lights out he did do things he is comfortable at and did not force must. He is a guard that defends well and is strong with the ball in his hands that showcased that he can do multiple things.
