Recent Commitments
Over the last week, Bryce Moore, Joey Brunk, and Ra Kpedi have come off the board. All are moving or staying close to home, same as the two guys in Tyler Smith and Mark Albers, that made their decisions earlier this month.
This isn’t a new things, guys always want playing time early on but as they go further and further into the college process, location begins to matter more and if they can get the best of both worlds, that tends to help make the decision easier.
For Moore, the decision to head to Xavier after playing at Western Michigan is one where his ability to score will come in hand for a Big East team while at the same time putting him with a program and a coach he is familiar with and only 2 hours from home. Brunk the same. He’s produced well enough and can play his final two years at Indiana where he’s pretty comfortable with while providing much needed depth for an Indiana team that has none.
Ra Kpedi didn’t really get a chance to develop at Vermont for one reason or another so Purdue-Fort Wayne will provide that opportunity. He’ll sit out a year but that should really helped to get him ready for the change and give him more of a chance to develop off the live court.
Still On The Board
We have added a couple names just since last night in Trace Ramsey and DeAndre Gholston. Ramsey is a 6’7 forward that went prep and then to Maryland. He only played 10 minutes this past season and will now be looking for more of an opportunity and it wouldn’t surprise if it was closer to home.
Gholston was only able to get on the floor for 62 minutes this season and was somewhat productive in those minutes but wasn’t enough in any one game to really make a difference. He could be intriguing because the upside is still there.
