College Commitment: Stephen Parmenter (2019 Pleasant Hill HS)
When Stephen Parmenter thought about what he was looking for in a college and basketball program, there’s no question he knew what was important. And when it all came down to it, Corban had all that he was looking for. So when the Warriors gave the shifty 5-foot-10, 165-pound point guard the opportunity to play, Parmenter decided it was the path for him.
“I already had in mind going to a Christian college and I had talked a little the last few months about going there,” Parmenter said. “I like that it’s not too far away from home and the coaches have the same values. It seemed like a pretty good fit for me.”
There’s no question that Corban as a school fit Parmeter’s criteria. He had also looked at Northwest Christian, Lane CC, and Clark CC, but the fit on the basketball floor With the Warriors was just right as well.
“They seem to have a lot of size and I see myself being able to distribute the ball to them pretty well. They seem to be only a couple of guys that handle the ball well, so I thought I fit in well because of that.”
A three-sport athlete, Parmenter is currently playing baseball for the Billies. But he knows there is still work to be done to get ready for hoops at the college level, and he’ll be spending the summer months getting prepared.
“I will be in the weight room trying to get stronger and quicker,” Parmenter said. “I will be working to get consistency on my shot and work on my ball-handling.”
Parmenter ranks as the #67 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
