These players, are going to put up some majors numbers over the next three years, and we will have you covered on every bit of that.
Make sure to get out on a weekend this summer, and check out these players, before their sophomore campaigns roll around!
2022 Guards:
• DJ Moore (6’3” / G / Worthington Christian): Taking Central Ohio by storm this winter, the freshman averaged around 20 PPG all season. Moore has top level scoring abilities from all over. Big time shooting skills, tough to the basket, and a stop and pop. Able to create his own shot, or work without the ball, are parts of his game. Also, the freshman gets teammates involved, never leaving an open teammate unrewarded. DJ Moore is a name to watch, and a lot more people will get to see his talents during the AAU season.
• Jared Frey (6’4” / WG / St. Charles): St. Charles has been blessed with a lengthy Frey, who was a problem during the HS season. No doubt, he will be a walking bucket during the grassroots period as well. The freshman is a versatile guard who is a matchup problem already for opposing defense. With on-court maturity already, Frey plays the game how it should be played. Knockdown shooting ability paired with an inside finishing game are a deadly duo for Frey. The 6-foot-4 WG can also use his length as a factor on defense. A kid with a bright bright future.
• Sean Jones (5’8” / PG / Gahanna): Maybe the quickest guard you seen on the HS level in Central Ohio, played for Gahanna this season. Sean Jones goes out with the mentality to simply dominate his opposition. The point guard has a blazing quick first step, that allows him to get to the hoop, with or without contact. A terror in transition, where he can finish or give a teammate a bucket. Solid court vision and IQ for a freshman. Jones knows how to make the defense pay, even if in the half court. A court general in his own right, opposing defense stay on their heals. With quickness and good instincts, the freshman racks up the steals and deflections. A player you must know in the 2022 class.
• Dior Conners (6’1” / G / Pickerington North): Division one coaches have already taken notices of the Panthers guard’s play. Ohio University being the latest to offer him, Conners has some serious game to him. A big time scoring prospect off the bounce, the freshman handles the ball extremely well. Plays the game with a solid feel, knows when to give it up, tough in transition. As the freshman continues to grow, he will get that much better.
• Jerry Saunders (6’0 / SG / Pickerington North): Saunders has a real chance to be one of the best scorers in this class when it’s all said and done. Another Pickerington North freshman, that is an absolute stud. The guard can absolutely shoot it, from deep. Off the dribble or the catch and shoot, Saunders can scorch the nets. Improving his off the dribble game already. The six-footer will be dangerous for opposing teams as he adds size and strength.
