Central Ohio Top 20:
Chance Groce (6’4 / WG / Linden-McKinley): The sophomore is a man amongs boys much of the time. Groce is a player that can play above the rim, or stretch it out. A highly skilled player that has two-way instincts.
Garner Wallace (6’5” / SF / Pickerington Central): Wallace is able to get his own bucket, or lock up the opposing teams best scoring threat. The sophomore can create off the bounce, getting through the lane. When he gets his touches, the guard is due for a big game.
Tyrese Hughey (6’6” / PF / Licking Heights): More of a back to the basket player, Hughey hosts a hand full of post moves that allow him to score. With a big frame, Tyrese has what it takes to be a force of a rim protector.
Jack Pugh (6’5” / F / Hilliard Bradley): When healthy, Pugh is a force in Central Ohio. Can defend the big inside, and does a lot of the dirty work. Gets his team a lot of second chances, a put-back machine. The sophomore has next level athleticism.
Jalen Sullinger (5’9 / PG / Thomas Worthington): Jalen Sullinger is possibly the best scoring guard in his Central Ohio class. Three-level scorer who is able to create space off the dribble. A knockdown shooter, who can work off the ball as well. Sky is the limit for the Cardinal.
Isaac Settles (6’5” / SG / Thomas Worthington): Thomas Worthington is blessed with another guard who can really fill it up. Scoring from anywhere is a strength of his game, but toughest through the lane. Finishing tough at the rim, Settles athleticism allows him to play above the rim already. The sophomore is molding into a willing defender, also.
Trey Woodyard (6’6” / SF / London): The primary creator when he’s on the floor, Woodyard plays with a noticeable poise. Other then being a scoring threat from virtually everywhere – Woodyard is a working rebounder from his position, also.
Elhadji Thiam (6’6” / PF / Pickerington Central): After waiting in the wings behind collegiate talent in Pickerington Central’s frontcourt rotation, Thiam appears to be next up. He’s a strikingly long versatile forward with ball skills. Stays active on both ends of the floor, which helps him find open shots and capitalize on his length. Soft finishing touch inside and a capable shooter inside the arch. Stronger than he looks when defending the basket. Blocks shots with length. Shows flashes of making a move out of the high-post on face-ups. – Anthony Garcia
AJ Mirgon (5’11” / G / Hilliard Bradley): A guard that has made his varsity impact felt from the jump. Plays hard on both ends, a knockdown shooter as well. Knows how to work off screens, plays the game with a solid IQ.
Desmond Watson (6’4” / F / Columbus DeSales): A tough player downhill, who finishes at the glass with the best of them. Strong athleticism and ball handling are a big boost to his offensive game. Creates off the dribble well, and gets teammates involved. All-around player.
Jainaz Cameron (6’6” / PF / London): Footwork is a major key in Cameron’s game. The sophomore does a lot of work in the low-post, and is tough to stop. Shot blocking ability has the forward as one of the better rim protectors around.
Idris Lawrence (5’10” / PG / Pickerington North): Pound-for-pound one of the toughest players in this class, in the area. Lawrence has a host of dribble-drive moves that create space for him on the way to the rim. A scrappy player, that will sometimes make the hard plays look easy.
Kobe Buford (6’4” / SF / Worthington Christian): Buford could soon be a breakout candidate. A capable scorer whether it’s him creating, or off the catch. Has the ability to run the offense, or play off-ball as well.
Kade Bafford (6’0” / PG / Newark): A two-way minded guard who can go right at you. Capable of locking down the opposing teams best ball handler, Bafford is relentless. Scoring is a plus, as the guard has an inside and out game in his bag.
Darius Parham (6’2” / SG / Bishop Ready): Parham is a true scoring option that can just fill it up. Whether it’s from deep, or odd the dribble drive, the sophomore is going to get his. A tough rebounder that won’t be out worked or hustled very often.
Jarius Jones (6’4” / SF / Gahanna): Jarius is a player that can turn the intensity up on defense, where he stays with his man no matter what. Molding into a two-way threat looks to be in the future, as Jones certainly has the frame.
Makhale Massey (6’3” / SF / Northland): With an all-around game, Massey can fill up a stat sheet. The sophomore is a threat through the lane, on or off ball. Catch and shoot, pull-up and baseline cuts are also a way of producing for Massey. On defense, he can high point a shot at the rim, or quick hands torward a steal.
Jack Christian (5’10” / G / Marysville): Christian is a very talented scorer at the high school level. Whether it’s dribbling in, or working off a screen, the guard can absolutely shoot it from deep. A player that is very confident in scoring as he is ball handling.
Brock Unger (6’4” / WF / Berne Union): Unger is a skilled wing that can score it off the dribble. A knockdown shooter, who has confidence in his release. The sophomore rebounds well, and can score off second chances at the rim. Moves well without the ball, to get high percentage looks.
Jake Lusk (6’3” / PF / Johnstown): The multi-sport athlete is one of strongest players you’ll see on the court. The inside spin and score is a go to move, that often has Lusk scoring two. A workhorse on the boards as he is defending, Lusk is only improving.
