Trey Galloway – 6’4 SG Culver Academies (IN) – Indiana Elite 2020
Tayson Parker – 6’2 PG Northwestern (IN) – N/A
Thoughts: This class has quite a few talented players, not as much as in year’s past but they do have a couple of the better athletes we have seen. The best of the bunch here is Tayson Parker. The 6’2 guard is a high-flying scorer that has learned to use his athleticism as opposed to letting it lead his game. He’s really developed well over the last few years.
But, guys like Kiyron Powell and Jeff Langston could see their stock soar because of theirs. Powell is such an adept shot-blocker because he can get to whatever spot he needs to on the floor and make a play. Langston isn’t as dynamic in that but he can really makes plays faced up at the rim that are only going to get better.
Athleticism does correlate pretty well with talent and guys like D’Andre Davis, Trey Galloway, and Jaden Ivey have that. But one person that might see his stock grow because of his athleticism is Tony Perkins. He’s a stellar scorer with great energy but that athleticism hasn’t quite been utilized yet and once he figures it out, he could blossom.
