Which players are about to see their recruitments change in a big way? Prep Hoops Wisconsin names 10 prospects who are going to impress college programs this weekend.
Dalton Banks – 2020 – PG – D1 Minnesota
Based on what we saw at the end of the season, Banks is going to be one of the most sought after point guards in the Midwest at the mid-major level. A high-IQ, pass-first floor general that can also take over the scoring load when needed, Banks has the ability to control and really put his stamp on a game. Banks has good speed and athleticism on the ball. Also a quality pull-up 3-point shooter, Banks forces defenders to pick their poison. A do-it-all prospect that would often flirt with a triple-double during the high school season, Banks has offers from South Dakota, UW-Milwaukee, North Dakota State, and UW-Green Bay. He’s been racking up interest from Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Butler, Wofford, Denver, Ball State, Drake, Valparaiso, Colorado State, Utah State, and Miami (OH).
Caden Boser – 2020 – PF – Wisconsin Swing
The Eau Claire Memorial has hit a whole new level this spring. Building himself into a strong mid-major prospect, Boser is expanding his offensive skillset. Boser was always a consistent 3-point shooter who can do a lot of damage in the pick n’ pop game, but now he’s stronger and more comfortable scoring off the bounce and moves impressively in traffic for a 6-foot-7 forward. Boser has an offer from UW-Milwaukee, while Denver, Northern Colorado, Drexel, Valparaiso, Lehigh, Illinois-Chicago, Utah State, Southern Illinois, Loyola (IL), and Monmouth have been showing interest.

Jake Buchanan – 2020 – PG – Ray Allen Select
When you light up a top Under Armour Association program the way Buchanan did earlier this spring, you’ve officially arrived. One of the state’s biggest breakout stars last season, Buchanan has taken the reigns of Ray Allen Select and run with it this spring. He’s undersized (5-11) for the Division 2 level, but is crafty and skilled enough to score efficiently against high-level athletes. Holding offers from Michigan Tech and St. Leo, Division 2 programs should start prioritizing Buchanan if he continues this level of play. Wofford, Jacksonville, Minnesota-Duluth, Hillsdale, Bemidji State, Southwest Minnesota State, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Winona State are all showing interest.

Brayden Dailey – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Playground Club
Dailey needs to put on weight and improve his quickness, but at the end of the day, schools aren’t going to be able to pass up a lethal scorer from all areas of the floor. Dailey is one of the most consistent long-range shooters in the country and catches people by surprise with his explosiveness at the rim. Never too high or too low emotionally, Dailey might not play with a ton of emotion, but has a killer instinct. Iowa, Wisconsin, Marquette, Purdue, Virginia, Minnesota, and Davidson are the schools tracking the Cuba City standout right now.

Johnny Davis – 2020 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Building off a huge junior season, Davis continues to back up the high marks we’ve placed on him as one of the nation’s most underrated players. Davis led Wisconsin Playground Club to a 3-1 mark in Under Armour Session 1 and had an outstanding defensive performance against five-star shooting guard Jaden Springer. Nobody on the floor outworks Davis, who plays the game with a mean streak. West Virginia, DePaul, UNLV, Minnesota, and Wisconsin have offers out to the La Crosse Central standout, while South Carolina, Virginia, Marquette, Texas Tech, and others have been inquiring.

Keaton Ferris – 2020 – G – Wisconsin Crusaders
Division 2 programs should start climbing on board this spring. Ferris is a deadly shooter that can also create for himself and others. The Kaukauna standout has good speed and burst on the ball, making him a threat to attack the rim. What goes under the radar is Ferris’ facilitating ability. A 5-foot-11 combo guard, Ferris sees things before they happen and makes passes on time and on target, also able to thread the needle in traffic. Heading into this weekend, Ferris is receiving interest from Davidson, Belmont, Michigan Tech, Lipscomb, and Minnesota-Duluth.

Tyrese Hunter – 2021 – G – Phenom University
DePaul and Grambling State have offered this sophomore combo guard. Hunter is an explosive scorer that attacks the rim with ferocity. You don’t see many guards under six-feet finish above the rim the way Hunter can in transition and in the half court as well. His athletic measurables alone are enough to attract Division 1 programs. If his mid-range and 3-point jumper become respectable, Hunter will take off as a prospect.
Alex Huibregtse – 2020 – SG – Phenom University NY2LA
Another prospect that Division 2 programs should start getting in on, Huibregtse broke out as a junior and looked just as strong this spring. He might not blow you away with size or athleticism, but Huibregtse can absolutely carry an offense. The Grafton standout has played very well in a number of high level matchups over the past year, showing sharpshooting ability from 3-point range and the willingness to create for others when defenses inevitably collapse on him. As of now, Huibregtse is getting a mixture of Division 1 and 2 interest from the likes of Air Force, East Tennessee State, UW-Milwaukee, Nebraska-Omaha, Penn, North Dakota, Minnesota-Duluth, Winona State, and UW-Parkside.
Max Klesmit – 2020 – G – Wisconsin Blizzard
Division 3 programs are hoping Klesmit falls, but that’s just not likely to happen. Klesmit is a sniper who moves well away from the ball and can rise and fire on the go with pinpoint accuracy. On the ball, Klesmit can handle the point duties and be a team’s primary scorer. He’s much tougher going to the rim than he was a year ago and is able to play through contact in traffic. Size-wise, Klesmit may be suited for the point guard position, but his skill set screams off the ball. He’s good enough at playing either spot that being a tweener shouldn’t affect his recruitment much, if at all. Air Force, UW-Milwaukee, Hillsdale, Valparaiso, UW-Green Bay, and Minnesota-Duluth are all evaluating the Neenah native.

Cade Meyer – 2021 – PF – Wisconsin Playground Club
He might be another year away, but Meyer will show flashes that will get Division 1 schools excited. For starters, the 6-foot-7 junior is bouncy. His teammates love throwing lobs his way as Meyer can high point the basketball and throw it down. Meyer is also skilled on the block and is comfortable with his primary moves. He’s not a huge threat away from the rim just yet, but has some versatility brewing and will knock down shots if left open. We think Meyer could be a late bloomer that takes off prior to his senior year.
2021 PF Cade Meyer is a potential breakout player this spring. Bouncy, 6-7 forward with budding versatility. @WisconsinPGC @MHSCheesemaker pic.twitter.com/oLuP7bSJ49
