Wired Wednesday With Wilson 2nd Edition
Welcome to the second edition of “Wired Wednesday With Wilson”. This week we took a look at Jason Gibson’s options for next year, Kody Stattmann’s future at Virginia and NC State’s chances at winning the NIT.
“If his offer sheet doesn’t increase, do you think Jason Gibson should prep?” – @pr0ia
Jason Gibson had an amazing season at Sidwell leading them to the DCSAA championship where they knocked off the defending champions and number 1 seed this year, Wilson High School. Shortly after that game he picked up an offer from Towson. I truly believe Towson would be a great spot for Gibson and I could see him having a solid career there. I know there are a few schools that love Gibson and could potentially offer him. However, if no other schools pull the trigger and offer, I think he should take that spot at Towson. There is no need for him to prep as he has a school waiting for him to commit and I believe that it would be great for both sides.
“What kind of contributions do you see Kody Stattmann making next year” – @sgriffis_steve
After the NCAA tournament concludes we might have a better answer to this about what the future holds for Kody Stattmann in a Virginia uniform as there are a lot of questions surrounding who might be coming back to Charlottesville next year. DeAndre Hunter is a lock to go in the lottery and Ty Jerome has been slotted in the late first round on many draft boards. Lets just say they both leave, Kihei Clark and Kyle Guy will most likely be the starting back-court with Casey Morsell pushing for starting minutes. This then leaves Marco Anthony and Kody. I was hearing rumblings that Kody might be playing a good amount of minutes this year but that obviously has not happened. I could see Kody coming off the bench next year and grabbing a couple of minutes each game for Virginia. As of right now I think it is more of a waiting game.
“Will NC State win the NIT” -@edwards_wes
I believe the Wolfpack have a good chance. They opened the tournament off last night with a 84-78 win over Hofstra and will play the winner of Georgetown and Harvard in the next round. As any college basketball fan will know, NC State had one of the most interesting and confusing resumes of all time. All of Raleigh was upset that they did not hear their name called on Selection Sunday and now they have to shift their focus to the NIT. Kevin Keatts made the NCAA tournament his first year at the helm in Raleigh but was not able to get back this year but I truly believe the Wolfpack are out on a mission to win this tournament. They want to make a statement that they deserve to be in the big dance. With all that being said, I like State to make it to the NIT final four and we will see what happens in Madison Square Garden.
