Below, is a few players from Central Ohio, that have the potential to help their teams big time!
Wings and Forwards To Watch For:
- Elijah Glenn (6’5” / F 2019 / Harvest Prep): Harvest Prep has players at every position who can get a bucket, Glenn is another. A presence inside that can send your shot into the crowd, Glenn is a high energy player. Doing a lot of his work at the rim, Glenn can stretch it when needed. Also, an above average passer with good vision for open teammates. The senior will need to be at the top of his game in a tough first game.
- Marcus Johnson (6’3” / WF 2020 / Columbus South): Marcus Johnson is very athletic, and has ups that supremely help his all-around game. With along arms, Johnson is a solid on-ball defender for the Bulldogs as well as passing lanes. A threat to play above the rim, the junior finishes tough at the rim. Can handle the ball a bit on the outside when needed, Marcus Johnson could be an x-factor for South’s success.
- Nick Nakasian (6’5” / WF 2019 / Olentangy Liberty): Nick Nakasian is a second scoring option for Olentangy Liberty and a very good one. A threat to slash to the hoop off the back screen, Nakasian finishes well through traffic. Also, a willing shooter when given the chance. The D3 commit is a bigger frame that can guard opposing big men or out on the wing at times. The play of Nakasian will do wonders for the Patriots in the State Tournament.
- Sam Barton (F 2020 / Columbus South): Sam Barton was quietly impressive in the Regionals, at times. A player, that could look to work inside against Sheridan on the block. Barton builds confidence when he scores, and it shows a lot on the other end as well. You will see the junior bring the ball up court a couple times a game, when the pressure is off. The bigger bodied Barton, is strong inside and can finish through contact. Also using his size to advantage on defense, where he won’t give up a lot of space inside. Barton will be a big factor in the South Bulldogs’ plans.
