Over the next couple weeks, we will highlight some of the top prospects at each position as well as some sleepers coming off big seasons who we are looking forward to evaluating in the coming months. The 2020 class is loaded with talented prospects primed to see their stock rise this summer. Here is a look at some of the top wings in the impressive 2020 class.
Caleb Love – CBC
Coming off a stellar season that ended in heart-breaking fashion in the state title game, Caleb Love has established himself as one of the most coveted prospects in the St. Louis area and a household name throughout the country. He averaged just shy of 20 points per game, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals for CBC this season and played his best ball when it mattered the most. In the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship game Caleb dropped 30, 25, and 28 respectively. Ranking in as the #35 overall junior by ESPN, he has his pick of high major offers to choose from. With his versatile playmaking ability, he could run the point or play off the ball at the next level. He will run with a loaded Brad Beal Elite this summer.
Cam’ron Fletcher – Vashon
Cam’ron is the most explosive athlete in the state, no question. The 6’7 wing’s stock blew up throughout the season as he helped lead an uber-talented Vashon squad through a national schedule and a state championship run. He is a poster waiting to happen in transition, excels as a slasher, and has proven to have a well-rounded game by knocking down 70 three-pointers on the season. Ranked as the #31 overall junior prospect by ESPN, Cam’ron averaged 18.5 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Wolverines. He, too, will run with Brad Beal Elite this summer. Expect the sidelines to be packed with coaching staffs from the “blueblood” programs when he takes the floor. He already holds offers from the likes of Michigan State, Mizzou, Ohio State, Purdue, and many more.
Luke Kasubke – Chaminade
Luke Kasubke looks to be the next hot commodity in a long line of talented prospects that have come out of Chaminade. After losing an important back-court running mate over the holiday break, Luke became the focal point of the offense and was more than up for the challenge. He scored 22.3 points per game on 69 made three-pointers and pitched in 4.4 rebounds per contest as well. This is a critical summer for Luke as he rolls with MOKAN Elite. With a plethora of mid-major offers in hand, he has seen Power 5’s take notice. Most notably, he has picked up offers from Kansas State and Mizzou and will look to keep boosting his profile on the circuit.
Dylan Branson – Mehlville
Dylan is one of three D-1 junior prospects on a suddenly loaded Mehlville team that just made a run to the quarterfinals. The thick-bodied wing is smooth and plays with swagger. We really enjoy his versatile game. He can score it at all levels. He averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds per game this season and will look to continue to catch the eye of college scouts on the summer circuit. Dylan already has a host of offers including SEMO, Tulsa, SLU, and Southern Illinois.
Jayce Catchings – Liberty
Jayce has emerged as one of the most prolific scorers in the St. Louis area and the entire region. He is coming off a fantastic junior campaign at Liberty where he averaged 27 points per game, buried 65 three pointers, and pulled down 6 rebounds per contest. He surpassed 30 points nine times this season. He was named to the Class 5 All-State Team amongst several honors. He currently holds a D-1 offer from SEMO and it is a near certainty that he will be reeling in more this summer with, you guessed it, Brad Beal Elite.
Sam Richardson – Hancock
We got a chance to see Sam numerous times throughout the high school season and saw him make strides each and every game. A gifted athlete, Richardson has evolved offensively and has developed into a takeover type player at Hancock. He is automatic around the rim with great finishing ability and a smooth mid-range pull-up game. Known as a lethal finisher in transition, he has improved from beyond the arc shooting the three at a 45% clip. Not to be overlooked, he pulled down ten rebounds per game to go along with scoring 22 per contest.
Daniel Abreu – Willard
While Daniel may not have the luxury of playing in a large metro-area like St. Louis, there is no doubt that he is a walking bucket. He can flat out score it at all levels. A crafty finisher with a smooth outside jumper, I was fortunate to watch him break the 28 year old scoring record at the historic Blue & Gold Tournament over the holidays in Springfield. He dropped 125 points over the course of 4 days and was brilliant the entire season for Willard. All-State, All-District, all everything, Daniel has several D2 offers that have been rolling in but a big summer with Missouri Flight could spur offers from low and mid-majors who are already showing interest.
