Some players have selected which college they will attend while others have narrowed their list down or even decided to change schools they are attending, so let’s dive right on in and see what’s going on in the recruiting world.
- Southern Durham HS Guard Jayvis Harvey recently committed to James Madison University which we feel should be a great fit for both sides. We got the chance to get a good look at Jayvis this last summer with Team Felton and during our time at the 4 Quarters Camp at Southern Durham HS. He has a nice overall skillset with his ability to score the ball being one of the things that will catch your attention early and often.
- 71st HS Forward BJ McLaurin has picked up an offer from Chowan University, the stretch forward to home Conference POY and will be a player that D2 programs will be bringing in for workouts and visits until he decides on a school. There is still plenty of upside to his game and whatever school he decides to attend will not only be getting a good player but a good student as well.
- Freedom Christian Unsigned Senior Guard Brandon Murray has cut his list down to four schools: Eastern University, Lees Mcrae, St.Andrews University and LMU being the schools on his list. Murray is a player that can shoot the ball at a very high level and put together some nice performances late in the season.
- Fayetteville Academy Unsigned Senior Guard John Michael Wright recently took an unofficial to UMBC and has been hearing from High Point, Providence, Indiana and others as of late. Wright was the leader for Fayetteville Academy team that took home the NCISAA 2A State Championship.
- Farmville Central Unsigned Senior Forward Dyquavis Willkins has seen a nice amount of growth in his recruitment over the past weeks. Mount Olive, Barton College and others have either offered of shown strong interest in him, he will be one that will only get better during his time in college.
- Concord First Assembly Senior Forward Peter Olatunji has picked up some offers from Livingstone and Milligan College. Peter is a player that hasn’t been playing the game for a very long time but picked up things fairly quickly, rebounding and blocking shots are things that he does well.
- 2020 Guard Ambaka Le Gregam announced that he will be transferring to Concord First Assembly, Gregam played for Freedom this season and had some pretty good performances. He will be a player that needs to have a big time season over summer and next high school season to raise his stock.
- Village Christian Guard Travion McCray made his commitment to Western Carolina, McCray has a gift for scoring the ball and should be able to make an early impact. One of the more memorable performances came from him in the 4th Quarter of their rivalry game with Trinity where he went for 15 points (5 treys) and a game winning shot at the buzzer.
