Gathering a list of players and choosing which rank best fits the individual was a tall task, but we do our best to keep them updated every three months. Our recent update includes an increase in the number of players ranked from 105 to 130. Here we resume our breakdown series by highlighting five prospects who were not ranked but will likely be included in the next update.
SPENCER HAYES | 6’5 SF | ST. ANDREW’S
Needless to say it was a big mistake to omit Spencer Hayes from this update. The junior wing, who sat out his sophomore year, was off the radar for a little while before bouncing back strongly this season. Hayes will be running with Team Thrill on the UAA this year and should find his niche as a lockdown defender.
MAX BROOKS | 6’6 PF/SF | GREAT MILLS
Max Brooks is a kid who emerged on our radar during a recent visit to a DC Premier workout. The long-limbed lefty is a versatile defender who is adept at seeking contact and finishing in traffic. Brooks has the raw physical tools to be a scholarship level player if he can refine his skill set.
CARLOS HUBB | 6’2 SG | GONZAGA
Due to a lack of significant playing time as a junior, it was difficult to honestly evaluate Carlos Hubb given his lack of consistent production. Despite this fact, Hubb is a safe bet to be included in the next update as a result of his knock-down shooting tendencies.
ERIC SONDBERG | 6’5 SF | SOUTH RIVER
Eric Sondberg is a shooter with length who scored in bunches throughout his junior season. It will be interesting to see what he brings to the 17U Team Durant squad on the EYBL.
D’LIAHL RICHARDS | 5’11 PG/SG | NORTH HAGERSTOWN
The Washington County Athletic Association named D’Liahl Richards to its first team not long ago, and it’s easy to see why. A solid all-around guard who rebounds and is adept at scoring in transition, Richards is crafty with the ball in his hands and plays with good pace.
