C.J. Smith / 5’8″ / PG / Mansfield Timberview / 2019
Fresh off a Western Texas College offer, C.J. Smith (featured image) came into San Antonio with one thing on his mind—another state championship. He achieved his goal by efficiently getting buckets. The small guard never saw a shot he did not like. He averaged 24 points per game in his two games and walked away as the 5A State Tournament MVP
Calvin Solomon / 6’7″ / PF / Klein Forest / 2019
No unsigned senior arguably has helped themselves more than Calvin Solomon. Not just in the state tournament, but also in the regional finals. His length and ability to guard defensively has more-than bothered a few high major players’ performances and has positively impacted the outcome of playoff games for the Eagles. Solomon has a lot of tools in his bag and is a prospect that Division I’s need to take a chance on because of his ability to handle the rock, rebound, and guard multiple positions.
JoQuarius Valrie / 6’5″ / SF / Houston Yates / 2019
Division I schools also need to make Jaquarius Valrie a priority as soon as possible. He is a tall and lengthy wing that can get it going off the bounce. Valrie took and made multiple contested jumpers in the 4A semifinal game vs. Oak Cliff Faith Family. He finished his career with a 27-point performance, including 5 made attempts from beyond the arc.
Bruce Scott / 6’3″ / SG / Galena Park North Shore / 2019
Duncanville had no answer for Scott in their semifinal matchup. The swingman went to work knocking down multiple perimeter jumpers off the catch and bounce. He even gave Jahmi’us Ramsey some problems at times with his ability to score. Scott has great size for his position and is one who should not go offer-less into the spring. He finished his high school career with a game-high 19 points in the 6A semifinal loss.
