Sando Hill 2019 Vanoss wing
Sando Hill is an explosive, athletic wing who has been one of the most impressive players in 2A this season for Vanoss. He dropped 40 points for the Wolves last week to defeat Hobart and send Vanoss to the State Tournament. Hill has an unmatched athletic prowess at this level of basketball and is borderline unstoppable. The 6-foot-3 swingman has tremendous upside and can benefit a small college from his first day on campus. You won’t want to miss him.
Vanoss vs. Hennessey / Thursday @ 7 p.m., Edmond North HS
Dayken Rackley 2019 Minco forward
Dayken Rackley has received some offers, but has yet to make his college decision. If I was a small college coach at the 2A State Tournament this weekend, I would make an intentional effort to see this kid play. He’s a rare breed; Rackley can create his own shot from the perimeter to the lane, burst through traffic, and slam it home. On the following possession, he could post up, catch the ball at the high or low post, and go to work. He is one of the more complete players at this level.
Minco vs. Okemah / Thursday @ 3:30 p.m., Edmond North HS
Hugo Rodriguez 2019 Hennessey wing
Hugo Rodriguez is a player who does damage on the offensive end in each facet of the game. He can score at all three levels; posting up, pulling up, hitting the 3-ball, and commanding an offense are all staples to Rodriguez’s repertoire. It should also be noted that Rodriguez carries a 3.7 GPA at HHS and has a 31 ACT. He has received attention from some small schools.
Hennessey vs. Vanoss / Thursday @ 7 p.m., Edmond North HS
Aaron Taylor 2019 Rock Creek forward
Aaron Taylor has been a well-kept secret at Rock Creek High School. He has been a major part of leading the first-ranked Mustangs to their first State Tournament appearance in over 20 seasons. Taylor can score at each of the bottom levels and has an unprecedented explosiveness to his game. He is a rebound machine who can also match up with opposing players at both the perimeter and the paint, utilizing his lateral quickness to be one of the most dynamic defenders in the state.
Rock Creek vs. Hooker / Thursday @ 8:30 p.m., Edmond North HS
Darian James 2019 Rock Creek point guard
Darian James is another kid from Rock Creek who is a dynamic playmaker and has been a well-kept secret for the Mustangs. The heady, quick point guard has top-notch footwork, ball-handling abilities, and man-to-man defensive skills. The chemistry on this Rock Creek team is some of the best of anybody in 2A and James orchestrates much of Rock Creek’s success from an offensive standpoint. Head Coach Craig Andrus has praised James’s ability to get his teammates focused on and off the floor, and his tendency to lead the positive culture in the Mustangs’ program.
