This past Sunday at Burleson Centennial High School in Fort Worth, Texas. I had the opportunity to check out some of the best unsigned seniors in Texas for the class of 2019. This event was run by AAU directors TJ Thomas, Ervin Davis and grassroots legend Stacy Houston. Here are some of the players that played well at the event.
Player Recaps
Ezekiel Fields / 5’9” / PG / Conrad
Fields is a speedy guard that pushes the rock in transition and surveys the floor to look for open teammates. Fields is one of the best scoring lead guards in his class.
Jayden Datcher / 6’5” / SF / Hebron
Datcher is a smooth wing that plays the game at his own pace. Datcher has a nice looking jumper and is a solid rebounder for his position.
Xavier Radford / 5’10 / PG / 2019
Radford has a nice handle and can change direction well with the ball. Radford is a capable shooter that can knock down jumpers when left open.
Jerry Carraway / 5’11” / PG / North Mesquite
Carraway has tight handles that allows him to get to his spots off the bounce for buckets. Carraway is a fearless leader that doesn’t back down from anyone on the court.
Nick Davis / 6’9 / PF / Mansfield Summit
Davis was the tallest player at the camp. He was also the best rebounder and post player. Davis showed spectators his ability to run the floor on both ends and block multiple shots on defense.
Jordan Hayes / 6’1” / PG / Mansfield Lake Ridge
Hayes is a floor general that is under control with the ball in his hands.
Tahlik Chavez / 6’1 / CG / Mansfield Lake Ridge
Chavez is a guard that can really stroke it behind the three point line. Chavez can play either on or off the ball because of his strong offensive skillset.
Myles Mccrary / 6’4” / PF / Grace Prep
Mccrary is an athletic forward that plays hard. Mccrary displayed a decent perimeter game, but is more impressive as a inside threat than an outside threat.
Lundyn Ellison / 6’3” / SF / Grace Prep
Ellison does all the little things on both ends of the floor. Ellison is a strong rebounder and tough finisher at the rim.
Anthony Hunter / 6’2” / CG / Burleson Centennial
Hunter is a fast combination guard that excels in transition. Hunter has the ability to fill it up when he’s in rhythm.
Calvin Phillips / 6’4” / PF / Denton Guyer
Phillips is a forward that can finish inside the paint or stretch the floor and hit jump shots.
Seth Thomas / 6’4” / SF / Kilgore
Thomas has long arms and a skinny frame. He is a good athlete that makes good passes in transition and in the half court set. Thomas is a prospect that could breakout in college once he puts it all together.
