Julian Naibose 6’3 W -> Prospect rank # 9 – Julian is a hyper athlete with elite athletic ability. With a great looking jumper. Julian has shown the ability to knock down the catch and shoot 3. Also with improved confidence and ball handling skills, he has learned to use his athletic ability to get in the paint and finish over defenders. Reminds me of Ian Martinez down at J-Serra in So-Cal. Julian has also started to reach his potential on the defensive side. Blocking shots on the backboard, picking up and pressuring the ball. Julian has one of the highest ceilings in the freshman class. Will play for HotShots Elite Adidas program.
Derrick Claxton 6’4 W-> Prospect rank # 25– With a long lanky frame and a great motor, Derrick has jumped out as the number 25 freshman prospect in Nor-Cal. With his elite finishing ability and good athletic ability Derrick shows some signs of Tim Duncan. Uses the glasses very well and takes what the defense gives him. Can knock down the 15 footer and in and also can play multiple positions. Runs the floor really well and can finish in traffic. Derrick is a very vanilla player in the sense that his game does not show flashy signs but it shows the result of production on the floor. Excited to watch him evolve this year as the AAU season is underway.
Marcellus Franklin 6’4 W-> Prospect rank # 32– Marcellus is a super athlete who plays above the rim at an elite level. The lefty is a great rim protector and also a great guy to have on the break. Off the rebound he pushes for himself which usually ends up in a layup or dunk, or he gets so deep and draws defenders and kicks to open guys. Probably one of the best competitors in the freshman class. With the motor and skill set Marcellus has a great chance to improve his game. Likes to shoot the mid range. Goes over his right shoulder well. Will play with YBA this aau season.
James Freeman 6’3 W-> Prospect Rank #13– James has checked into power house program Capital Christian mid season and has looked like a star since we first watched him. With his ability to get downhill and finish at the rim James forces his pressure on the defense and gets what he wants. His jump shot looks the same from the first time we saw him but he is putting in work and shooting shots more consistently now. James is a highlight reel waiting to happen with his broad shoulders and finish at the rim mentality. James will run with HotShots Elite Adidas program.
