The senior got off to a great start at the 2019 state tournament. He led the Titans with 22 points and pulled in 5 rebounds on the day. He put on a show for the Titans and was a key part in their dominant performance on Thursday. Freidel got on the board early scoring 11 first-half points along with his 11 second-half points.
Justin Hohn (Tea Area) — 19 points (7-of-17 FG), 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals
Hohn was a true floor general out on the floor on Thursday, he dished out eight assists and chipped in with 19 points as well. The senior stuffed the stat sheet with seven rebounds and seven steals as well to go with his points and assists. He was a nightmare for the Rentz guards for Dell Rapids and you could tell they were frustrated as well.
Mitchell Goodbary (SF Christian) — 31 points (9-of-18 FG) 12 boards
The Sioux Falls Christian senior combined some jumpers with a more dominant inside presence for a balanced attack scoring 31 points and grabbing 12 boards. He leads the team in scoring with 17 points a game this past season. He was able to do anything he wanted to on Thursday against the Bulldogs.
Charles Schrader (Pine Ridge) — 14 points (6-of-10 FG) 6 rebounds and 3 assists
Schrader used an efficient scoring night to help the Thorpes to a first-round win on Thursday. He went 6-of-10 from the field and 1-of-2 from deep for 14 points. He was also active on the glass grabbing in six rebounds and dished out three assists in the victory of Hot Springs. He really energized his team early on to get them out to a big lead early in the first half.
Will Daugherty (Lennox) — 14 points (5-of-7 FG) 5 rebounds and 3-of-4 from deep
One of the main catalysts for the Orioles on the season, Daugherty continued his stellar play on Thursday in the upset of St. Thomas More. He would score 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field while also knocking down 3-of-4 from downtown. His ability to find the inside position allowed him to grab five rebounds on the day as well.
Quincy Ihnen (Lennox) — 17 points (5-of-9 FG) 4 rebounds and 3 assists
The senior had himself a great showing at the state tournament on Thursday in the opening round upset of No. 3 St. Thomas More. Ihnen went 5-of-9 for 17 points and knocked down two 3-pointers on the night. He was plagued with foul trouble but that didn’t stop him from playing hardnose basketball. The senior also grabbed four boards and dished out three assists.
Morgan Harkless (Hot Springs) — 17 points, (5-of-13 FG), 5 rebounds, 3 assists
The senior was a bright light in a game that wasn’t the nicest to the Bison faithful. Harkless showed great poise and leadership when things weren’t going Hot Springs way. The guard had 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting and went 6-of-7 from the line for the Bison. He also hauled in five rebounds and three assists.
