First Team All State
Matthew Hurt of Rochester JM (Sr). Leading candidate to win Mr. Basketball, the Gatorade Player of the Year, McDonald’s All American, and a 36.7 point/12.5 rebound/5 assist per game player that led JM to 22 wins. All time leading big school scorer in Minnesota at 3,819 points and all time big school leading rebounder at 1,462. Definitely the Class AAAA Player of the Year.
Zeke Nnaji of Hopkins (Sr). Put up 24 points and 9.5 rebounds a game while leading Hopkins to the state championship at the Class AAAA level. Zeke is the Metro Player of the year and a future Arizona Wildcat. A Mr. Basketball finalist.
Tyler Wahl of Lakeville North (Sr). Tyler is a Mr. Basketball final five member that led his team to state every year he played on varsity. Averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, and nearly seven assists a game for the second place team in state.
Dawson Garcia of Prior Lake (Jr). Garcia led Prior Lake to a top five spot in state most of the year with a 25-4 record averaging 27.5 points and 11 rebounds a game. Dawson was also one of the best defensive players in the metro and now a rightful five-star recruit.
Dain Dainja of Park Center (Jr). There was only one 30 win team in Class AAAA this year and that was Dainja’s Pirates. Dain led Park Center in scoring (16 a game) and rebounding (nine a game) while taking them to third place in Class AAAA.
Second Team All State
Jack Middleton of Edina (Sr). Middleton is one of the better defenders in the metro and has been for a long time. Add in his 25 points a game and you have a top Class AAAA player for a 19-9 team.
Cole Nicholson of Chaska (Sr). Cole scored 23 points per game for a Chaska team that put together a 21-6 season. Nicholson set a school record with a 51 point game this year.
Kendall Brown of East Ridge (Soph). Brown led the 28-4 Raptors in scoring (17.3), steals (85), field goal percentage (59 percent) and was second in assists and blocks. Versatile production.
Drake Dobbs of Eden Prairie (Jr). The Eagles have a balanced squad that won the state consolation trophy but Dobbs was a step ahead as the leading scorer (18.5 a game) and leader in assists (5 a game).
Antwan Kimmons of Tartan (Sr). Led Tartan to a 25-3 year with incredible ball pressure defense and an explosive approach that lead the Titans in scoring (21 a game), boards (6.1), assists (4.7), and steals (2.7). Idaho State got a steal.
Third Team All State
Courtney Brown Jr of East Ridge (Sr). The East Ridge top defender, he hit 43 percent of his threes, second leading rebounder (5.2), third in assists, third in steals, and this in scoring (15.7). Some of everything.
Ben Carlson of East Ridge (Jr). The inside double-double averaging East Ridge big for the 28 win team. Produced 16.6 points a game with 11.3 rebounds a night plus led the Raptors in blocks.
Jaeden King of Cretin-Derham Hall (Sr.). King was the game changer with the jumpshot scoring 22 points a game for the 22-7 Raiders this year. One of the most explosive shooters you will see.
Maleeck Harden of Moorhead (Sr). Moorhead at 21-6? Wow. Just a fantastic accomplishment with Maleeck leading the way as a tremendously improved player scoring 20 points a game with strong numbers on the glass and creating for others.
Kerwin Walton of Hopkins (Jr). Walton’s game grew in a big way on both ends for the state champion Royals. Kerwin scored 17 points a contest shooting a very healthy 48 percent at the arc.
Fourth Team All State
Jacob Beeninga of Wayzata (Sr). Beeninga scored 17 plus a game this year for with 6-7 assists a game for 19-10 Wayzata.
Robert Jones of Prior Lake (Sr). 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks a game for a 25-4 team.
Jeremy Beckler of White Bear Lake (Sr). Led 20-win WBL with 20 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks a game.
Steven Crowl of Eastview (Jr). Took the Lightning to state with a 19.6 point, 8.2 rebound per game average.
Bennett Otto of Champlin Park (Sr). Otto led CP into the top ten in state with an 18 point per game average also leading the team in assists (4.5) and steals (3 per).
Tommy Chatman of Park Center (Sr). Park Center won 30 games with Chatman at PG leading in assists and scoring 13.5 a game.
