If you’re looking for a good game to watch, there will be plenty of options as every team has talent and a story of how they were able to reach this point.
1A Henderson Collegiate vs Bishop McGuinness
Bishop McGuiness Junior Guard Jake Ledbetter put together a nice performance with 16 points and some clutch free throws to help their squad get the win. We had the opportunity to see Ledbetter last summer at the First 48 event where he was very impressive, scoring the ball at a high level from multiple levels. Henderson Collegiate Sophomore Forward Akhiris Holden had a breakout game that turned plenty of heads in the state championship game as he put together a nice performance of 18 points and 9 Rebounds with a few dunks to get the HC fans hyped in the stands.
2A Farmville Central vs Forest Hills
Forest Hills Senior Guard Nas Tyson will be one that could have a great impact on this game, he’s a player that can put the ball in the bucket and has even broken the All-Time scoring record in Union County. Farmville Central Junior Guard Justin Wright is a player that can score the ball at a high level as well but has shown the ability to rebound, pass and defend at a high level. Wright is a prospect that has picked up offers and interest from MM & HM programs with his stock continuing to rise.
3A Walter Williams vs Southwest Guilford
We have had heard plenty about the Langley twins when it comes to Southwest Guilford and rightfully so. However in their matchup with Cox Mill HS, Unsigned Senior Forward Jay’den Turner went to work and put together an impressive performance with 29 Points and 6 Rebounds. Walter Williams has been led by Unsigned Senior Guard Nasir Johnson pretty much all season and last week was no difference as he went for 22 Points and 4 Rebounds in their win over Eastern Alamance.
4A South Central vs West Charlotte
This one has a chance to be a big time battle, each team has been dominant throughout and have everything that a championship squad requires. However we feel that they game may come down to the battle of the ACC Forward Florida State Signee Patrick Williams for West Charlotte and Dayron Sharpe the UNC Commit for South Central. Both can score and rebound the ball at a high level and are versatile players that can pretty make plays from anywhere on the floor. The person that remains aggressive throughout all while staying out of foul trouble will most likely be the one to help their team the most.
