Roosevelt and Broadneck will battle for the 4A crown Saturday evening.
Isaiah Gross | Eleanor Roosevelt ‘19
Gross led the Raiders with 16 points in their thrilling 63-61 win over Dulaney. The Coppin State commit struggled mightily shooting from the field, but adjusted tremendously by attacking the rim a drawing fouls. Despite an off shooting night, Gross finished 11-of-13 from the charity stripe including three-straight after being fouled by Dulaney’s Cam Byers on a three-point shot to give his team the win. Gross also pitched in with seven rebounds in the effort.
Cam Brown | Eleanor Roosevelt ‘19
Brown finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Like Gross, Brown struggled to find his mark from three, but used his strong 6-foot-6 frame to earn tough baskets around the rim and also capitalize on mid-range jumpers off the dribble.
Che Evans | Dulaney ’20
Evans had a solid outing in Dulaney’s first final four appearance in 42 years. The 6-foot-7 win finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Evans used his height to have an impact on the offensive glass and also rise over the top of his defender in pull-up situations.
Ike Cornish | Dulaney ’21
Cornish was the most efficient player we saw in yesterday’s slate of games. The 6-foot-6 sophomore finished with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 beyond the arc. Throughout the game, Cornish made great decisions as a shooter, ball handler and defender. We’ve seen tremendous growth an confidence in Cornish’s game throughout this season and will look forward to see him carrying it to this spring and summer.
Logan Vican | Broadneck ’20
Vican gave Richard Montgomery fits all night. The 6-foot-9 junior scored from all three levels on his way to a game-high 19 points. He also pulled down 10 rebounds in the win for Broadneck. Eight of his 19 points came in the final eight minutes to put the fork in Richard Montgomery’s hopes. Vican will be a focal point for Eleanor Roosevelt in the final on Saturday.
Che Colbert | Broadneck ’19
Colbert was extremely impressive as a slasher last night. Richard Montogemery presented a ton of size around the rim defensively, but that didn’t stop the 6-foot-1 guard from attacking them and finishing with some craft. Colbert scored 16 points, gathered seven rebounds and two steals.
Kordell Lewis | Richard Montgomery ’21
As just a sophomore, Lewis stepped on the big stage and played extremely hard even when his team was down big. The 5-foot-9 guard led the Rockets with 18 points, shooting 6-for-11 from the field. Lewis did most of his damage by breaking his man down off the dribble and pulling up from the mid-range area.
