Ryan Agarwal (Coppell ’22) seems to have hit a slight growth spurt and now is a 6-foot-5 wing that has a bright future. He is a trim and lengthy shooter who is active on the defensive end. Adding strength will be the main focus over the next three years, but the freshman’s future is certainly promising with his ability shoot at that size.
Anthony Black (Coppell ’22) is another long and rangy freshman that showed promise as an effective two-way basketball player. He displayed a pretty stroke from long range and was terrific playing the passing lanes. His picked-off passes led to easy fastbreak scores for his team. The son of former a Baylor great, (Terry Black) Black led the game in scoring with 20 points in the 16U bracket win.

Bryce Griggs (Fort Bend Hightower ’22) is once again playing up on 16U and as usual, dominated in the Sunday afternoon matchup vs. the Hoops. The number one player in the freshman class is an elite shot-creator and was terrific in opening up scoring opportunities for others. He hit shots out to NBA range, was effective with his in-between game, and got to foul line to receive easy points. Griggs knocked down four shots from three-point territory and finished the game leading all scorers with 27 points.
As the game was coming to a close, it looked as if the Hoops were going to lose this one by at least double digits. That was until R.J. Keene (Tomball Concordia Lutheran ’21) heated up and went on a run of his own. Keene got hot at the right time, drilling three consecutive long balls and finishing contested layups inside. In the end, his exciting 13-point second half performance was not enough as the Hoops fell short by three points. Keene still had himself a pretty solid outing finishing with a team-high 19 points in the close defeat.
