Commitments
Lance Jones (Evanston)
Ranking: #20
Jones is coming off a great showing at the state finals leading his team to second place in 4A. After the coaching change at SIU, where he signed in the fall, he had to see who the new hire would be. On Thursday he reaffirmed his commitment after talking with new Salukis coach Bryan Mullins.
Vincent Miszkiewski (South Elgin)
Ranking: #41
This 6’7” face up four man went from unranked to inside the top 50 in the newest update of the PHI Rankings which will debut on Monday. He had a lot of helium at the end of the process with tons of D2 interest, but after an official to D1 Incarnate Word he committed.
Demari Grant (Oswego East)
Ranking: #84
Grant is a quick twitched point guard with speed to burn! Solid mid-range shooter. This past week Grant made his commitment to Clarke University.
Alex Raiford (De La Salle)
Ranking: #104
At 6’3” Raiford brings plus shooting and a smooth offensive game to the table with defensive upside. He has opted to go to prep school for a year at Don Bosco Prep.
Michael Hodges (Schaumburg)
Ranking: #120
Hodges really elevated his stock as a senior showing an all-around floor game and scoring pop. This past week he made his college commitment to Culver Stockton.
Recruiting Updates
Sha’Den Clanton (Rockford East)
Ranking: #81
This 6’6” small forward showed well at state with his length on the defensive end as well as his ability to attack from the mid-post. Elmhurst and Rend Lake are both making strong runs at him. Lakeland, UW-Parkside, and Kirkwood are also in the mix.
Tyriel Nelson (Providence St. Mel)
Ranking: #132
Nelson took the momentum he had from the summer with Chicago Select into a big senior season where he earned all-state honors while leading his team to a 1A state title. As for the next level he has been in touch with Illinois Tech, Manchester, and Lakeland.
Patrick Mayfield (Burlington Central)
Ranking: #192
Mayfield opened a lot of eyes with the numbers he posted during his senior year. He told us on his recruitment he is planning to make a decision in early April between Dubuque, Benedictine, Florida Southwestern, Coffeyville, Southwestern in Iowa, and Wisconsin Platteville.
