High Point Academy (Spartanburg) defeated the Hemingway HS 70-55. The Grizzlies got their 1st State Title and defeated the Tigers for the 2nd time this season. Jayden Byrd (2020) led the way with 29 points while connecting on 6 three pointers. Isayah Owens (2020) added 17 points while Reginald Bell chipped in with 14 points.
The Tigers playing in their 4th straight state championship fell to (17-10). The Tigers were led in scoring by seniors Darius Taylor with 12 points and Darius “JuJu” Williams with 10 points.
Gray Collegiate cruised by Andrew Jackson (Kershaw) 79-38 to win back to back state titles in Class 2A. The War Eagles dominated from the start and were led by seniors Tommy Bruner with 19 points, Jalil Robinson 15 points and Khalil Robinson 12 points. The War Eagles finished the season at (21-10).
The Keenan HS Raiders were dominate all season long and on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders raced by Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS 70-40. The Raiders were dominate all season and finished the year at (30-1). The Raiders have claimed their 6th State Title under Head Coach Zach Norris.
Asanti Price (2019) led the way in the game with 22 points. Latrell Taylor (2019) and Dillon Jones (2020) both added 15 points in the victory while Raekwon Horton (2020) added 10 points.
Ny’gel Boozer led the way for the Jaguars with 18 points in the defeat.
Ridge View HS repeated as state champions with a victory over Wilson HS 65-52. The Blazers Walyn Napper led the way with 16 points and 8 assists. Ja’von Benson added 14 points and 10 rebounds while Cincere Scott chipped in with 14 points. Benson and Scott both juniors will be back next season on the Blazers roster.
Senior Darius Boatwright had 17 points and fellow senior Allen Williamson had 12 points. The Tigers finished the season at 16-9
The Dorman HS fought off a feisty group from Berkeley HS 46-39. The Cavaliers have now won 3 straight titles and are the only winners of the Class 5A since it started. The Cavaliers were led by Myles Tate with 19 points while Jack Renwick added 11 points.
Middle Tennessee State football signee DJ Chisholm led the Stags in defeat with 14 points. Ishan White (2019) finished his high school career with 7 points and 13 rebounds.
