Justin Hohn (Tea Area) 19 points (7-of-7 FG) and 6 assists
The senior made sure his last game as a Titan was a big one. Hohn went a perfect 7-of-7 for 19 points and drained two 3-pointers in the game. He dished out six assists throughout the night as well. Hohn carried the team on his back in the second making the clutch shots along with some clutch defense late in the game. The UC Irvine commit finished his high school basketball career as a two-time state champion.
Kaleb Joffer (Tea Area) 10 points (5-of-8 FG) and 5 rebounds
The big guy inside for the Titans used his great footwork inside to helpTea Area win their second state title in the last three years. Not always the biggest or strongest guy but he made sure that no one would outwork him down low. The senior picked up two big offensive boards and scored 10 points in his last game as a Titan.
Noah Freidel (Tea Area) 17 points (6-of-11 FG) and 12 rebounds
It’s hard to not think of Freidel when you mention Tea Area. The senior has made his name well known throughout the state as one of the best players in his class. His dominance in Tea Area’s win on Saturday only cemented his name into the history books even further. He went 6-of-11 from the field including some clutch rebounds on the defensive side with some clutch shots on the offensive side. He would finish with 17 points and yet another double-double corralling 12 rebounds.
Mitchell Oostra (SF Christian) 11 points (4-of-6 FG) and 3-of-5 3-pointers
Oostra was on fire in the first half of the game on Saturday and was one of the big reasons the Chargers had a three-point lead in the first half. He really spread the Titan defense out and made them close out on the wings hard. He was able to knock down tough shots with a hand in his face. He played a big role in frustrating Tea Area on the offensive side in the first half. He finished with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field.
Zach Witte (SF Christian) 17 points (6-of-11 FG) and 7 rebounds
The 6-7 junior had a huge second half in the Chargers late run. The junior got hot from three late in the game to cut the lead down to single digits at one point with less than four minutes to go. He was a big force in the paint going 6-of-11 for a team-high 17 points and grabbed seven boards on the night. He will be a big-time player for the Chargers next season.
Corey Brown (Pine Ridge) 11 points (4-of-8 FG) and 13 rebounds
The Spirit of Su winner for Class A boys didn’t hang his head after a tough loss in the semifinals to Tea Area, he instead went out and dominated the boards to help his Thorpes claim third place in this year’s tournament. The senior went 4-of-8 for 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. He was a true team leader out on the floor helping his teammates up after falling and pumping them up after big shots. He was a force to be reckoned with inside and he was able to not only score but dish out four assists on the night.
Halen Bad Bear (Pine Ridge) 25 points (9-of-14 FG) 5-of-7 3-pointers and 5 assists
The senior had a game-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting that included nailing five 3-pointers on the night in their big win over Lennox to claim third place. He handled the ball very well only turning the ball over once in the game. Bad Bear put the ball in the right position for the Thorpes all night long to play a huge role in getting the 61-47 win over Lennox.
