After a solid senior year at Eastside Catholic, the hard-working 6-foot-7, 245-pound forward is nearing a choice when it comes to his college recruitment. Barker is seriously considering a handful of schools and an official visit this weekend may shed more light on his potential destination at the next level.
“I’ve kind of narrowed down my list a little bit,” Barker said. “I’m thinking about going to Vanguard right now but I’m also looking a few D-III schools, Redlands, Lewis & Clark, and George Fox.”
Barker noted that he’s making a visit to Vanguard this weekend. He’s been on campus before, but wants to get another look and have a discussion with the coaching staff about a potential scholarship offer. “I’ve been there once but it was kind of rainy so I want to go when it’s a nice day,” Barker said. “And this one will be like an official visit too.”
As he ponders his options, Barker is staying fit by playing AAU basketball this spring. “I’m playing with ML20 right now,” Barker said. “They’re a bunch of good guys. I’m not really expecting anything, I just want to stay in the loop I guess and they’re good guys.”
Barker currently ranks as the #44 player in the PrepHoops Washington Class of 2019 rankings.
