The all-around 6-foot-4, 175-pound wing was on an all-out tear for Roseburg the last part of the season and while the Indians lost in the first round of the playoffs, Warmouth piled on a school-record 43 points in his very last college game. It was a fun year for the senior who now focuses on his college recruitment as he’s picked up his first scholarship offer.
“There was some team stuff we had to work through but we were a lot better this year than we have been the past few years so that was nice for our senior group,” Warmouth said. “I felt that I did well especially in the second half of the season. I scored a lot and it was cool, I broke like six school records this year with most of them having to do with points so that was cool. I was doing a little bit of everything but the second half of the season I shot it really well.”
Some of the school records Warmouth broke include career points (1,599 points), single season points (726), and single game points (the 43 points vs. Tigard). Warmouth earned Southwest Conference Player of the Year honors and should get All-State recognition as well.
With the season done, Warmouth turns his attention to recruiting which has certainly been going well. “I’m trying to set up some visits right now,” Warmouth said. “I’m going to visit OIT and Western (Oregon) soon – I had a home visit with Western a couple of weeks ago. Southern Oregon has been talking to me and Chaminade University actually just gave me a full ride scholarship offer, so that was cool.”
Warmouth also noted that Division III power Whitman offered him a spot on their roster for next season, but unfortunately the financial piece of things doesn’t quite work out for him at this time. Western Oregon has talked about offering some scholarship money and Warmouth is hopeful to talk more about that when he gets up to Monmouth. An official visit to Chaminade is also in the works.
Warmouth is happy about the options he has at this point and will continue feeling things out as he goes along. “I’m going to take some visits and keep talking to coaching staffs and get a feel for them,” Warmouth said.
Warmouth currently ranks as the #22 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2019 rankings.
