After his most recent standout performance, a gutsy two-point win in a budding rivalry, Cornish discussed his recruitment in detail with Prep Hoops.
PH: You recently visited Loyola (MD). How was it?
RC: “It was good. Coach Brenden Straughn, he’s a good friend of mine,” Cornish began. “And a good friend of my Coach, Devin (Williams) with the District.”
PH: What type of feedback do you get from your coaches on your overall game?
RC: “A lot about defense. My defense has gotta improve. Definitely if I want to play at the next level.”
PH: What’s underrated or overlooked about your overall game?
RC: “I’d say probably my passing honestly. I think when all the attention is on me, guys close out, and guard me full court, I’ve got to be able to make the pass to get my teammates open.”
PH: How are you doing in school?
RC: “Last quarter I got all A’s and one B. So 3.85, unweighted.”
PH: What are you working on to better your overall game?
RC: “I’ve gotta get stronger obviously. So I’m in the weight room all offseason.”
PH: Which schools are recruiting you?
RC: “I’ve been talking with Coach Brandon Howell from B-CC. He’s helped my recruitment. I’ve received interest from UCF, UMBC, Longwood, Missouri State, and Gonzaga.”
PH: What can you bring to a college program?
RC: “Leadership, and talking a lot. I’ll bring my defense to the next level, and obviously shooting.”
