The sophomore is best at being a versatile threat on the floor, and at 6-foot-6 with some extra length to boot, is certainly a prospect to keep a close eye on.
It’s his confidence, that Washington — Georgia’s 23rd-ranked 2021 — will be working on most this offseason.
“With my speed, height and length, I’m able to guard one through four, and every coach tells me that,” said Washington. “But what holds me back from playing the way I’m supposed to play is my mentality and confidence , which is getting a lot better, people are telling me.”
He added: “I barely played this season because of my mentality and confidence.”
It’ll be with Game Elite 16U this spring and summer that Washington will look to make improvements to his game and his psyche.
“Since the season ended, I’ve been in the gym 2-3 times everyday lifting and working on my skill set , my confidence and mentality, and getting a lot stronger; I’m physically getting a lot stronger,” said Washington.
With his size, length and potential, Washington has already begun to hear from some high-major D1 programs.
“For recruitment, I have lots of interest from lots of school like Auburn, Alabama, Memphis, and a lot more schools,” said Washington, whose main priority right now is to simply get better.
“This off-season, I will be working on my weaknesses and my strengths still, cause there’s always room to improve.”
