Prospect Spotlight: James Graham
Most of Nicolet’s success this year has been attributed to Jalen Johnson and Jamari Sibley, but the Knights are much more than their superstar juniors. James Graham was the fulcrum for the Knights in their 2018-19 championship run. He averaged 7.4 points per contest during his sophomore season.
Prep Hoops Wisconsin was able to catch up with the standout sophomore and ask him some questions.
Building off an impressive sophomore season, Graham will look to roll over his quality play into the AAU season. “This AAU season I’m looking forward to winning the Peach Jam and contributing to a contending team,” Graham told Prep Hoops Wisconsin. “I’m looking forward to getting more touches and more offers as well while improving in all areas of my game.”
Graham has already set himself apart in many ways. He told us this: “I think the thing that sets me apart is I am willing and able to do what the team needs to win, I’m very versatile.” Graham stands and 6’6″. His height allows him to bully smaller defenders in the paint, but he also able to step outside and knock down shots from long range.
Like mentioned earlier, Graham plays with some of the best competition in all of high school basketball. “Playing Jalen and Jamri has helped me so much physically and mentally, I have gotten stronger.” “Also It helps my defense,” said Graham.
James Graham has already been apart of a championship team, but he has many goals left to complete. When asked about his personal goals, he said that he would like to become a 1000 point scorer and get a 3-peat.
Due to a phenomenal first two years in high school, Graham already boasts D-1 offers from Rutgers and Depaul. At the moment, James is only focused on those offers. “[My] Only offers are from Depaul and Rutgers, so they are the only colleges I can consider.” Expect there to be many other schools who pile on Graham’s bandwagon this summer.
After a terrific sophomore season, a breakout junior campaign is a very real possibility for James Graham.
