Terry noted that he has offers from GCU, UNLV, Cal, USC, Nevada, ASU, Memphis, Utah, and Marquette. Terry has received plenty of interest from schools as well.
While he does not have a final list of schools or a ranking of the schools he has offers from, he did mention that he is looking to go “somewhere [that] makes me feel like home.” Also, he wants an “uptempo” system that will provide him with the “fastest route to the league.”
Terry is one of the top ranked guards in his class and for good reason. He has tremendous basketball IQ and can finish extremely well around the rim.
Further, he is a lengthy guard who can create for himself and others at a high level. His length makes him especially intriguing because it affords him the opportunity to guard and play multiple positions.
Basketball has moved to more of a positionless game, which fits Terry extremely well. His stock has gone up astronomically within the last year after playing for Compton Magic and making the move from local Corona Del Sol to Hillcrest Prep.
Many prospects who have tremendous numbers at the high school have an asterisk mark next to their name due to the level of competition and the difference between the high school and college game.
Terry will not have as much of a leap to make as many others as far as playing at the next level. He has good size and skill that will aid him in making the transition immediately. He still has areas in which he needs to improve, but he has a number of uncoachables that put him ahead of the rest of the competition.
Further, playing a national schedule and playing for one of the nation’s most elite club basketball organizations has given him the opportunity to compete against some of the nation’s most elite players. Thus, showing that he can put up big time numbers against big time players.
Terry’s development will be intriguing to watch as he moves into his senior year and makes his college decision. He will most likely continue to make waves on the Adidas Gauntlet en route to earning even more attention and accolades.
