Prep Hoops Oklahoma Player of the Year
The Prep Hoops Oklahoma Player of the Year is awarded each season to the top performer over the entire year in Oklahoma high school hoops. This season there were several candidates worthy of consideration across the state. Ultimately, our staff decided to go with the most impactful player in the state for his team, Micah Thomas.
At Putnam City North this season Thomas led the Panthers on an improbable run to the Class 6A State Championship Game. He finished the year averaging 31.1 points, 4.5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.
“Micah is a special talent that was not only special on the court,” said Putnam City North head coach Ryan Wagner. “But these last four years he’s been our most coachable, hardest worker and toughest kid on the floor every day. He leaves a legacy of excellence behind that is unprecedented here at North and 6A basketball. Our program is truly blessed to have had him as our leader the last four years. He has set the standard of excellence and paved the way for future Panthers players to strive for.”
The Prep Hoops Oklahoma Player of the Year Award will be handed out to Thomas at the annual Prep Hoops Oklahoma All-Star Game in May.
