Most Valuable Player
Animu Mohammed (Greenwood) – The five-star talented completed a dominant sophomore season by averaging 29.5 points, 18.5 rebounds and four blocks in the two Final Four games to lead Greenwood to the state championship. Aminu had 35 points, 23 rebounds, three blocks and three steals in a victory over Plattsburg in the state semifinals. He followed up with 24 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in a 55-54 victory over Oran in the state championship game.
The Next Five
Jacob Shoemaker (Oran) – The 6’0″ senior guard averaged 18 points in leading the Eagles to a state runner-up finish. He had 24 points on eight of 11 shooting from the field, including four 3-pointers, in a 58-40 victory over Van-Far in the semifinals. Shoemaker had 12 points, four rebounds and six assists in the championship game against Greenwood. He finished his stellar career at Oran as the school’s career scoring leader while leading the Eagles to two Final Fours and a state championship in 2017.
Tyson Goodale (Oran): The 6’2″ junior forward averaged 13.5 points and six rebounds in the Final Four for the runner-up Eagles. He had 10 points and three rebounds a game in the semifinals against Van-Far, then followed up with 17 points and nine rebounds in the championship game against Greenwood.
Tommy Pinegar (Greenwood) – The standout freshman averaged 11 points in the Final Four in helping Greenwood to the championship. His highlight performance came in the championship game against Oran when he scored 15 points and made four 3-pointers. Pinegar finished a very successful freshman year with 100 made 3-pointers.
Trey Miller (Van-Far) – The 6’2″ senior forward averaged 13 points and seven rebounds in leading the Indians to a third-place finish. After scoring nine points and grabbing five rebounds in the semifinals against Oran, Miller had 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a victory over Plattsburg in the third-place game. Miller led the Indians to back to back Final Fours, including a state championship in 2018.
Garrett Stephens (Plattsburg) – The 6’2″ senior guard averaged 17.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in the Final Four as Plattsburg finished in fourth place. Stephens enjoyed a big performance in the semifinals against Greenwood where he had 28 points, five rebounds and three assists.
