Most Valuable Player
Chase Farnan (Jefferson) – The 6’6″ junior forward had a big coming out party at the Final Four in leading Jefferson to the state championship. He averaged 28 points in the two games in Springfield. Farnan had 26 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Linn County in the semifinals, then came back to score 30 points and block four shots in the championship game victory against Dora. The young big was very impressive.
The Next Five
Isaac Haney (Dora) – The 6’1″ sophomore bucket-getter averaged 22 points a game in the Final Four to lead the Falcons to a runner-up finish. Haney had 26 points, three rebounds and three assists in an overtime victory over St. Elizabeth in the semifinals. He finished the season with 18 points, six rebounds and three steals in the championship game against Jefferson. After two big seasons to start his career, Haney is tracking towards 3,000 points in his career.
Nathan Jermain (Jefferson) – The junior guard averaged 12 points and 4.5 rebounds in helping Jefferson to the state championship. In the semifinals against Linn County, Jermain had 13 points and four rebounds while shooting a perfect five for five from the field. He added 11 points and five rebounds in the championship game against Dora, making all three of his attempts from 3-point range.
Mason Luna (Dora) – The 5’11” sophomore guard averaged 18 points and four rebounds in the Final Four for the Falcons runner-up team. He had 18 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the semifinal victory over St. Elizabeth. He came back with 18 points and three assists in the championship game against Jefferson.
Ross Struemph (St. Elizabeth) – The 6’7″ junior forward averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds in leading St. Elizabeth to a third-place finish. Struemph had 16 points and four rebounds in the semifinals against Dora, then followed up with 22 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks in the third-place game victory over Linn County.
Jase White (Linn County) – The senior guard averaged 15.5 points and 11 rebounds in leading Linn County to a fourth-place finish. He had 18 points and eight rebounds in the semifinals against Jefferson, then followed up with 13 points and 14 rebounds against St. Elizabeth in the third-place game.
