It’s never too early to look into the future. Who might be sitting with the finalists next year? Who could be named the 2020 Mr. Basketball in Michigan?
The Favorites
Lorne Bowman (2020, PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
Bowman is a smooth moving guard that runs an offense with precision. The Wisconsin commit can score and facilitate for teammates. It’s hard not to be a favorite for Mr. Basketball as a Big 10 commit.
Carlos Johnson (2020, F, Benton Harbor)
Johnson is a walking double-double and possibly the most well rounded player in Michigan. He’s a leader who’s a threat to score at all times. Johnson will have a long list of college programs to choose from.
Jamoni Jones (2020, PG, East Kentwood)
Jones flat out went off during the season and the playoffs. He has the look of a score first point guard, but he has the ability to draw defenders and dish off for an easy bucket.
Jalen Terry (2020, PG, Flint Beecher)
Terry is as explosive as they come. He excels with the ball in transition. Terry is a tremendous finisher at the basket and is a leaper that can play above the rim.
In The Mix
Tyson Acuff (2020, PG, Cass Tech)
Acuff is fast and athletic. His ability to lead his team will go a long way.
Jon Brantley (PG, Brother Rice)
Brantley has all the tools. He’s a dynamic point guard that gets buckets.
Maliq Carr (2020, SF, Oak Park)
Carr is a 2 sport superstar who is often bigger, faster, and stronger than the competition.
William Dunn (2020, F, Quincy)
Everybody loves a tall kid that can stroke the 3 pointer. He could put up Mr. Basketball numbers.
Da’Jion Humphrey (2020, G, Southfield Christian)
If Southfield Christian dominates again, it’ll be tough to look past their leader.
Matt Nicholson (2020, C, Clarkston)
We can’t rule out a talented Clarkston kid, especially when he’s one of the top bigs.
Jarvis Walker (2020, PG, Muskegon)
Don’t forget about Walker. He was on a tear at the end of the season.
