Kaleb Stephens 2020 Kinta guard
Kaleb Stephens may have been the most valuable player for the championship-winning Kinta after hitting a go-ahead shot with 8.3 seconds to go in the game. Stephens was a versatile playmaker for Kinta all weekend, hitting some tough shots at the rim, making great passes, and playing tough, adhesive defense.
Luke Gunns 2020 Paden wing
Luke Gunns was doing it all for the Paden Pirates. He played defense, got rebounds, scored from the inside, and shot the ball well. Gunns’s height was not officially listed on the Paden roster, but he likely stands about 6-foot-2, making him one of the taller threes in the tournament and ultimately helped him to finish shots, get rebounds and protect the rim. His 26 points in the quarterfinals led Paden to the upset win over Duke.
Jase King 2021 Braggs forward
Jase King was an intriguing player to watch. Endowed with the size to post up, King also came up with a couple of deep 3-pointers to aid the Wildcats’ upset efforts. King has a quick release and astute form. Combined with his 6-foot-5 stature, he was a tough player to stop at the perimeter.
Damian Harris 2021 Big Pasture wing
Damian Harris pulled down a ton of defensive rebounds against Lookeba in the quarterfinals, making it nearly impossible for the Panthers to get serious offensive production rolling. Harris has length on his side, but is not the tallest player on the floor. At 6-foot-even, Harris relies more on his athleticism and basketball iQ for his explosive style of play. Offensively, he can handle the ball well and create his own shot from the perimeter.
Kaleb Thompson 2020 Big Pasture wing
Big Pasture swingman Caleb Thompson had his hand in the cookie jar in every facet of the game in the quarterfinal round of play. He scored the ball on multiple levels, rebounded, passed the ball and hustled about the floor with purpose all night.
